First, I just started using the snare drum riser. Immediately I can tell that is very useful and helpful for me.I had a serious arm injury that prevents me from rotating my left elbow. A distal tendon bicep rupture to be exact. With the riser it takes a lot of pressure of my left wrist.I was able to easily play tempos of about 180 B P M just this evening.It has a nice fat sound using the front of the stick. It has a very fat sound playing the back of the stick.I'm looking forward to playing more songs that require a nice clicking sound. It's also an attractive device. Very quick and easy to install. A real plus is the different size snare retention rods.

The maple version cost a little more but has a fatter sound. I own a yamaha Russ Miller Groove Wedge that is absolutely awesome. But it's no longer made.

Attached easily ,love the extra space and fuller whack for louder playing situations yet lots of sonic options. I plan on buying one for all my snares!

If you need a extra crack on you're side stick best believe this is the BEST product out POINT BLANK PERIOD!! I've been using RimRisers for about a year now and haven't looked back since
