My dad passed down his suitcase record player to my 7yo daughter, after I got him an upgraded system. I had already been buying extra copies of albums, in anticipation for the days my kids might want them, so she already has a few of her own, that I was keeping for the future. Today, she left with my husband, to visit my MIL, and she requested that she bring her new record player. I remembered that I had ordered this carrier for myself, and ended up giving it to her, so she can safely store and travel with her records, that she’s so proud of. It is well made, and does hold even gatefolds with thick booklets in them. Some may prefer just keeping records in protective sleeves in this, but it can hold the whole cover. I’m likely to buy myself one, and another gor my sister.

When I ordered this, there were no other reviews, so I wasn't entirely sure what to expect. To be honest, though, from the product images, I didn't really plan to use it for long-term storage. Now that I've had it for a while, my initial instinct was correct, because this is best used as a travel case for temporarily transporting records, especially since it doesn't always fit the record case.The workmanship for this storage case is fine. It seems like it will do its job well for years as long as it doesn't take much abuse. You really don't want to subject it to much abuse, too, because there's no hard shell on this to protect your records inside it, so most physical abuse the case is subjected to would transfer to all the records within it. That's not exactly a big negative, because it *is* supposed to be a portable case, so keeping it lighter weight is one of the design considerations.What I would have wished was for this case to be able to hold my records within their cardboard cases. Instead, although most of my older cardboard cases can fit, some of them are still a bit snug for my liking, and many of the newer records I have that seem to have thicker cardboard cases just don't fit at all. I would suggest putting your records in plastic sleeves before you put them in this case. (If it weren't for this issue with this case, it would have easily received an extra .5 to even 1 star more for my rating, especially since a couple of the product images try to suggest that you can easily store records within their cardboard cases in this.)As far as its use as a portable case for my records, aside from what I pointed out previously, this works pretty well. I can easily carry 8-10 records with me without it weighing me down too much. I do have hardshell cases, but those are significantly heavier and are more of a pain to carry around, so I definitely prefer this over those for easier portability.

This is a nice simple vinyl record carrier that should function well if you are looking to take your records to a friends house for a party or get together or something but we are not going to be able to use this for basic storage as I hoped. Got this for my son who is starting a record collection and he likes to keep his records in their cardboard cases and this case will NOT fit your records with their cases. I had hoped it would because one of the pictures for the item shows a record in a cardboard sleeve coming out of it. But when we tried it was too tight and actually scuffed up one of my sons cardboard sleeves.If you are looking for something to take your records around with you this should be cost effective and work fine but the company should probably take down the picture that shows the cardboard case going into this carrier because it’s a bit misleading.

This is a good bag if you have a small collection. Store your records in here. Or pack a few for the road. It's well designed and looks good. I would still like to use the oriiginal sleeves for extra protection. Great for travel!

I was expecting a stiff plastic box with inserts for the records to protect them from damage. That's not what this is. It's merely a holder, (mostly made from nylon or something), not a plastic protector kind of thing. It will work, and I got it for my daughter anyway, not me, so I'm hoping she'll appreciate it regardless of my likes/dislikes, so we'll see in a few days what she thinks. It's not a bad holder, just not what I expected.

This album storage case is actually very nice! I am impressed with how well-made it is, and with the features. The side zippers flow open and closed smoothly and the hook and loop strip flap closure is generous in size. With strong carrying handles and a back pocket, tabs that can be labeled, I do not know what is not to like about this storage case. My retro albums are fitting in it just fine, even with the cases on. I originally got this to put all the loose albums into that I have, but I may want to put my very favorite albums in this to find them more quickly. This case would be great for travel too. Easy to recommend.
