This is a super reasonably priced option for a student looking to upgrade the 6C that comes with their student trombone. The ridges are unusual, but they don't impact the functionality of the nouthpiece. Produces an acceptable sound that will be a huge step up from a smaller beginner mouthpiece.

I'm always shocked at the cost of "name brand" mouthpieces when it is an item that is pretty easily machined these days. As long as the dimensions are similar and the finish will last (we'll see), I'd rather spend my money on a better instrument than on a $100+ mouthpiece--especially on school-owned instruments.This measured similarly to my other 51D mouthpieces. I personally found the ridged exterior a bit strange, but it's very clearly shown in the picture, so you know what you're getting with this.
