Excellent quality, but a little larger than the 40 inches described. This is an excellent quality table protector, the material is high quality and crystal clear. The thickness is good, it will definitely protect a wood table from heat and spills.Unfortunately the 40 inch size was 40.5 inches, so I would need a special cutter to trim a perfect circle. It's a very good product, but the specifications need to be precise in the product description so customers can verify fit.

I bought the 45 inch, 1.5 mm cover protector for my 45 inch round table and it is NOT true to size! You can see in my pics how the edge hangs over. This is a problem because I’ve accidentally caught the edge of it while passing by and slid it off a bit. There’s no way to fold the edges over. This cover needs to be trimmed down. Also, if you need to work on a laptop and use a mouse on your table (which I often do) you will need to use a mousepad. The cover is too slick for the mouse to register. The cover is VERY shiny and I can’t decide if I like that or not. I’ll leave it on for now but if I keep hitting the edge it will have to go. It’s disappointing because I really wanted to like this.

Well, the old old handmade table has seen better days, but we still use it frequently! I'm passing it down to my adult son and I hope he'll just use this table protector to minimise the bumps and bruises that happen all the time instead of keeping the table in a dusty corner. Family furniture is meant to be used by the family until it just can't anymore!I found that the Whirltique Round Clear Table Protector was more difficult than I imagined to get to lie flat. The hair dryer "trick" really doesn't work so well. I tried cutting it down to the outer border of the table and then further flattening it, and this seemed to work a bit better. As you see our particular table has two "borders" and the inner border is the one I decided upon to cut the protector down to size. I think this, with more hair dryer workmanship, finally got almost all of the warping out of the plastic. Be forewarned that this tabletop shows every speck of dust, and it also shows marks from where I left a sewing machine on it for two days. The bottom of the sewing machine was perfectly clean - it's a new machine - but the rubber bottoms seem to have made a permanent mark on the table protector. This is not a biggie to me, but you should be aware of this ease of damage to the protector when purchasing.I also learnt during this process that our antique table is not quite perfectly round on top! What do you know, when you handmake an item, it's not as uniform as you might imagine. So I'm glad I got my tabletop slightly bigger than the table and cut it down to size in stages.I truly hope you find this review helpful in deciding what will be best for YOUR furniture!

The quality and the appearance are far superior to counter covers i purchased from another company. The included instructions took the frustration out of flattening--i had instant success! My round table finish is now well protected and it looks great with its new cover. I will purchase from this company again!

This table protector is of a very nice quality! It arrives tightly rolled in a well-protected box. I did not dare to do anything with it for the first two days, which I am sure was way over the top on precaution, however when it arrived the temperature was way below zero. I assumed that that level of cold would likely make the protector rather fragile, if one were to take it out and try to unroll it.After waiting to ensure that it had warmed up sufficiently, I pulled it from the open box, and slowly unrolled it. Excellent! No damage at all. The protector is very thick and seems very well built.Initially, putting it on the table there were some rolls remaining in the protector. If I had a functioning hair dryer, I would have loved to have utilized it to loosen the memory from the rolls that were remaining, however as fortune had it, my hair dryer had quit working about the time this protector arrived. It is now several days in, and the protector is increasingly flattening, and is really looking good now. I may need to do just a bit of trimming, as I may have overestimated in my measurement just a bit, however I will wait until summer to address that project, if I address it at all.In the meantime, the protector looks great, and it is affording an excellent degree of high-quality good-looking protection for the table.I love the look, and I would most definitely recommend this attractive well-built table protector to anyone who wants to preserve the look of their table and wants to afford it the very best of protection. Highly recommended for those who want a very attractive protector for their table!

I own an old oak table that my wife absolutely adores, and just recently came up with its first nick when she was doing some crafting and one of her items slipped out of her hands, and the tablecloth that we use just simply didn't do much to protect the wood.I ended up ordering this as a start to finding a more durable method to protect her table and continue to extend the life of this piece of furniture. The one thing to note is that it comes rolled up along with some paper that helps and the process of ensuring that the table doesn't directly stick to the wood. The one issue that we have faced at this point is that we unwrapped everything about four days ago and for having a little bit of trouble trying to get it to lay flat. We did try to use a hair dryer, but didn't really help. I do have a heat gun, but I want to give it a little more time before I turn to that extreme.Once we get it to lay flat I think this will be an amazing method of protecting the wood and really hope that everything works out well.
