Bought this to tin copper cookware. . . I forgot to buy the spray flux. You can make your own by dissolving pine resin in iso alcohol and filtering out the debris and putting it in a cheap dollar tree spray bottle. Dont let it pool though. It will crater your copper... Ask me how I know.

If you are into unconventional but traditional gifts for your 10 year this is it. Yeah it's just a bar of Tin and it doesn't claim to be anything more than that. But it's got some weight to it in your hand and it's just being it's best self as a bar of Tin.

Satisfying ingot of metal in the hand. Feels about the density you'd expect of your average metal, presumably because tin's density is pretty average as metals go. 1.015lbs. Shiny and looks reasonably pure. Almost looks like what you'd expect an ingot of silver to look like, but not as dense. It's stamped "tin" and something that's probably a serial number using moveable type. I'll test the surface with a lead test kit; if it comes back positive will update the review. I don't have a spectroscopy tester to check the full composition.

Wife thought it to be a funny gift to celebrate our wedding anniversary. My only gripe was it didn't look quite as pretty as the picture on the page I purchased this from. The TIN stamping was on the top of the ingot (where it cools uneven) and not on the bottom of the ingot where it was clean and smooth with smaller pits. Not giving a lower than 5 as this ingot is meant to be remelted and not used as a novelty shelf item!
