It is well made but the first outing the cap unscrew itself and the knot failed leaving me with a capless waterskin.

I enjoy the pouch as I can sling it over my shoulder and not worry about bottles of water(or wine). Many years ago I owned a pouch. Brings back pleasant memories.

Had this for 1 weekend, and it worked quite well, even though it feels cheap. The 4th time I used it, it leaked all over me. The plastic bladder also flavors the water. Would not recommend.

I go to historical reenactments so having the ability to carry 2lt of water is great. For first time use, fill the bladder with waterand let set. After a day add more water slowing stretching the leather. After use, Clean out well and hang dry before storing

This bag holds up really well. Totally worth buying! It’s hard to clean so be careful what you put in. I’ve been using wine and it has been quite lovely. Easy to clean and easy to drink! The string is a tad short, but not worth dropping a star for.

So far, this bota bag is holding water, when full. No leaks ! Hopefully it will hold up for my upcoming cycling tour …..

I loved this bota bag. I use it while snowboarding, so the chances of it leaking were much higher than normal. I took it to home depot and purchase2 different sized rubber o-rings for the top and once those were in place, it was completely leak free, even while snowbaording. I also putchased some longer cord to make it more convenient for sharing on the lift.I got it out to use this year and it sprung a leak once it was completely full for the first time. I disassembled it and the internal plastic bag had become brittle during the summer of not using it. This may have been able to be avoided by keeping it in use and not letting it sit for 6 months or maybe it just has about 1 year of life expectancy. I won't know until next year. I would purchase again.

The bladder inside has a rubber smell & taste, if you wash it inside with soap & water rinse it well then leave a little wine 🍷 in it for a couple of days then dump out the wine the smell & taste of the rubber bladder is gone. Yes I would recommend this product to a friend.

My Bota does not leak . . .I love mine . . .just don't man handle it and it should hold up for a very long time . . .Rise out the Bota with clear water a couple of times . . .add lemon water to your Bota and let it sit in a cool dark place for a day out of the Sun light . . .empty the lemon water . . .rise with clear water, now fill with drinking water, you should not have any plastic taste . . .you can cure your Bota for carrying wine first rise it out with clear water then add a Sweet Red inexpensive wine to your Bota, let this sit for a day or two out of the Sun and in a dark cool place . . .empty the wine out rise your Bota with clear water, now fill with your drinking Wine . . .do not leave any liquids in your Bota more then a couple of days . . .rises with clear water before each new, filling . . .

HOLD THE PRESSES! This thing is a piece of Junk. I really thought that some of the reviews saying that it leaks may have just been picky people but I was wrong. The first time I filled it with water it had what I would call a pin hole leak, and I thought ''I can live with that,'' after all it was for hiking with my dog. The leak in the bag just got a bit larger each week. By the end of the month it was totally useless. You only have 30 days to return this thing so if it has a leak don't hesitate to do something about it, return it promptly. I waited too long and that was my mistake. As for stars.....I give it a ZERO if I could! You would have better luck with a large Zip Lock type bag with a string attached for a lanyard.
