They were a little big, just overlapped around tire. Then used small bolts to tighten. Now I have to order some snow here on Amazon, ran out before I could try em.Update had good snowfall test worked much better than without chains. Happy w/purchase.

Can't beat the price and the quality surpasses what you would expect! Instructions are very clear and they are easy to install.

Bought these chains for a 70's Jacobsen/Homelite Imperial 826 snow thrower. Originally the solid tires were 12.5" x 4", but after all of these years they got worn down to a 12" diameter. Couldn't easily find any chains that would fit. After reading a couple reviews mentioning about solid tires and diameters, I decided to give it a shot. These fit great on solid tires that are 12" diameter 4" width and a 7" rim. Only dropped one of the end links from each side (inside and outside), probably could have fit the original 12.5" diameters. Not loose at all and don't currently seem to need extra bungies or springs to hold them on. Supposed to snow tonight, I'll see how it goes, but i can't imagine anything slipping at this point, and if the chains did slip, nothing some baling wire or zip ties couldn't solve.

These chains work perfect and sure a huge help to grip on ice. I see a lot of complaints on fit and install. Take the wheel off the machine. Most snow blowers are just a simple slip fit with a clip or bolt holding the wheels on. Remove the air stem valve core and let all the air out. It will make it much easier to install. You do not need to latch the end end links perfectly. Just use a pliers or vise grip and bend the link to lock it on. Ive put many sets of this style chain on and without letting out all the air it can be extremely hard to do.

When I installed the chains, one side of tire required two links removed the other side needed three taken off. And it was the same for both tires ... weird. But they do what was intended so that's a plus.

For the price, you get what you pay for. Work okay for snowblower tires but, arn't anything great.

This package arrived intact, but with no instructions as to how to mount the chains, with their unusual fastener, onto my snowblower tires. I had been told I had ordered the correct size, but then ultimately had to remove several links in order for the chain to not fall off the tire. After spending over an hour trying to retrofit it, I realized that the chains' ladders fell in between the deep and highly spaced treads of my tires--and added absolutely NO additional traction. There weren't even any signs of the chains in the tire impressions in the snow, they were that recessed. This was not made clear in the description of the chains, nor was there anything in the bag with them to describe their application on various treads of tires. In the end, I spent $28 that I could not recoup, since I had "disfigured" the chains in order to get them on. The LaClede service rep was very kind and helpful, but nonetheless, the order was a washout for me. Beware to make sure you are getting exactly what your tire can accommodate before you order these!

I bought these chains here on Amazon in November 2014 as it was time to replace my 30 yr old worn out HD chains on my Ariens snowblower. ( My tires are 4.10x3.50-6"). These chains were delivered in the super fast Amazon fashion. I paid like 24.99 plus tax as a normal buy, no gold box deal on these. Didn't think the price was that bad compared to other prices I have seen. I received them today and was impressed on the chains packaging. They arrived in the usual Amazon cardboard box, and once opened and removed revealed a white canvas bag sewn closed with thread, Once the thread was removed the chains were enclosed in a plastic bag inside the canvas bag. Great packaging. I removed the chains and I'm not sure if I was shocked or disappointed. The chains are no where close to the thickness and quality of my old HD chains. The links that are positioned on the sidewall of the tires are that compared to the ones used on porch swings. But in defense of that these liinks should not be subject to wear, having no contact with concrete or asphalt. The cross links are the twisted style links similar to designs used in bracelets. These are the links that will wear over time with abrasive contact with concrete or asphalt. The thickness of these come in at about..375 mm or 1/8" inch in diameter.. I feel like I am being a little bias here because I can't help but compare these to my old ones that have lasted 30-35 winters. I expect that these new chains might give me 7-10 yrs, so not bad for the money spent, plus I believe they are made in the USA which is rare for anything now days. Again I'm not sure and it might not be fair for me to compare these to my old ones as there may be differant price ranges and sets available of greater thickness and quality available that are the same as my old ones. So to be fair these are a pretty good chain for the money, made in the USA, and the quality appears to be good.I would have given a five star if they were like my old ones for sure, but 4 star is still up there. Don't be afraid to buy these at this price.Hope this infor helps. Tom Whit
