This cable was specially designed for the Roku LT and Roku 2 (Roku XS, Roku HD, Roku XD) and Roku Express Plus models. I bought this cable to connect a Roku 2 XS to my old Sony TV that has no HDMI connection. It works, but... I had to figure out which cable carries the video signal and which ones carry the sound (left+right). On a normal RCA cable the yellow carries the video and the red and white carry the sound. In the cable I received the red carries the video and the other two the sounds. No big deal, but it's kind of annoying and puzzling when you first install it. After that, of course, it doesn't make a difference. The image and sound are correct. My advice, if you receive a cable like mine with mixed-up color codings, try to locate the video connector first by trying all 3 separatly in the video input of your TV (yellow). When you've found which one carries the video signal, just keep it there and then connect the other two into the sound inputs of your TV (red & white).

The quality of the picture was mediocre at best- the color was pale, and there were wide horizontal bars of color alternating with B&W, constantly drifting upward on screen.I fiddled with color controls on TV, no benefit.

The whole point of this oddball cable, which LOOKS like a traditional A/V cable with composite video and stereo audio, is that it fits the very annoying slightly different A/V outlet on my Roku 2 and a few other Rokus as well. It does fit and it works as advertised. Perfect solution to a very dumb design choice at Roku.Traditional 3.5 mm dia. A/V cables use a four-conductor jack ALMOST the same as this one (containing video, audio L, audio R, and ground), but they don't work in Roku. Thanks to this seller for stocking and selling the right thing. By the way: this custom-for Roku cable will most likely not work in non-Roku products unless they adopted the odd Roku variation.

I ordered the composite cable with red white and yellow on both ends. I noticed that on their web page they showed the correct cables but when you clicked on them to see more it showed the wrong one. It showed the three colored on one end and round jack on the other. I tried to explain to the girl who took my order what was happening and told her I'd already gotten the wrong one once and not to send me the same WRONG ONE. Well, I should have known she wasn't listening and again sent the wrong ones . I now have spent $20.00 on two cables I can't use. There was NO information on where to send them back to so I'm stuck with two worthless cables and still no Roku. I went hunting for cables that would work. Not that easy, they may look alike but they are not. Finally found an old very short composite cable from a printer or something I'd purchased over the years and it worked, no thanks to Roku. I must check and see if they have corrected the problem on their order page. Wonder if anyone else got stuck like I did.

I don't know why they made these just specially for the roku I bought- but these absolutely do work on the model roku 2 xs that I have. ..! Plugged them in and POW - my roku was up and running in a split second !! They were reasonably priced, free shipping since I have prime, arrived in 2 days, well packed- no problems. And, best of all--they WORK !! Just make sure you check the model roku that you have with the model roku these cables are made for. I think they are made for only one model of roku- the roku 2xs- with the hdmi connection, as well as ethernet- I do believe it is the only model that has both connections..so just be sure that is the model you have. Thanks again amazon.com..

I ordered this cable for a Roku 2 XD model, and it works perfectly with my Sansui SDTV tube television. I can tell that this is really meant to work with a Roku, unlike all the other cables I saw on Amazon which were for camcorders; the product descriptions and reviews said that they could supposedly possibly work with a Roku.I wasn't willing to take any chances, so I settled on this product, even though there were cheaper cables, because it specifically says that it is meant for a Roku. Well, this product WILL work, and does work, with a Roku, as promised (at least, I know it works with the Roku 2 XD). The picture and sound transmits perfectly clearly. The package arrived on the promised day and the product was new and in plastic.

A good solid product, carries a strong clean signal. Works great with my ROKU. In short it does what it should do, unlike most of the competition. The only reason for 4 stars instead of five is I would like the wire to RCA connection to be a bit more protective and solid. I am aftaid it will flex and break with time.
