Used it for an alternative purpose; inserted into base of a bee hive to warm the hive during extreme cold temperatures. Worked perfectly.

This is really simple and easy to use. It is a great size for what I need, and it provides a lot of heat. It stays attached really well, and the power cord is long enough to reach the power strip I use. The materials seem really good, and it is definitely durable. But, most importantly, it works great.

I love that this heating plate is rigid and has the cord protected from chewing-very important for the critter cages it will be used in. I let it heat up on high and low settings and used my infrared thermometer to check the surface temperature. The actual surface temp was always 4-10 degrees F lower than the set point, even when the internal thermostat was at the set point, so if you need something that gets all the way up to 113, this is not your product. The hottest it got was 105-106 surface temp. However, I'm currently using it under my isopod bin, and it only needs to get a little bit warm for them, and it's doing great while being the perfect size and a nice flat surface.If precision is important, you'll want to set up some kind of external temp monitoring so you can correct for its internal thermostat sensor being closer to the heating element than the surface you're using. If you just need to keep a critter cozy, it's perfect.
