I got these speakers as an warehouse return. One of the grills was on upside down, which might have been due to the previous owner. I tested with bass boosted music and there was some fluttering distortion that was audible, but with normal music they sound ok. The bass is weak compared to full size speakers. I am using them as portable karaoke speakers. They sound good for vocal frequencies. There is a bass reflex port and sound damping foam inside, but the wires used are pretty thin, probably 18 ga or smaller. They are (poorly) soldered in place. The base screw mounts are machine threaded and have a metal nut inside the box so they won't strip out. Paid $72, not worth it at 90.

I purchased these for my height channels for my home theater. Wow what clarity and difference these made. I'm totally impressed with these. Atmos sounds clear and precise. Totally impressed!(update) Well, I found out that I haf an issue with one of the 6.5 woofers having a bad voice coil in the rear height speaker so I reached out to the company. Looking for a solution where it didn't involve alot if shipping time, I asked for them to just send one 6.5 speaker so I can replace; then I'd send them back their defective woofer. To no avail negotiations failed with the Rockville representative. So I took matters into my own hands and purchased SKAR audio 6.5 woofers and replaced all 4 woofers, along with new "super" bullet tweeters for the absolute win! So now, these speaker sound and feel proper! As they should have when I initially purchased them.UPDATE: I purchased the upgraded model hoping to get a great sound out of the box; and to my dismay I did not. They came with the same "whizzer" tweeters, and a(n) subpar 8" woofer that actually stole wattage rather than performed.. so again. I kept the enclosures, but installed new drivers; both Super Tweeters and Rockford 8" Midbass woofers. Now they sound clear and proper.Takeaway: Buy enclosures and add your own speakers. Or go with a better brand of speakers. Theirs really isn't good.

I got these as a gift for someone to use as karaoke speakers. They sound as good as any other karaoke speaker(s) Ive heard. Not many I must admit. Definitely capable of being loud. The connectors on the back were not as described. Actually a plastic black and red hex nut on a post. You back off the nut to reveal a hole to feed your wire through and then re tighten the nut. At least that's the version I got. You must use 18g speaker wire or larger,. 16,14 etc.20g is not large enough or rated for 8 ohm speaker which these are. 18g is recommended as the minimum. And .. I can confirm that because I had some scraps I was intending to use. Nothing. I back tracked and discovered it was 20g. So I researched a bit and had some 18g and connected with that. Instant results. Works just fine.
