Although I felt the bag a little pricey, it is durable, seemingly well made, spacious and pretty. Pretty meets function. I found that it can hold more than enough of what I need held. And that the velcro strap makes it easier to keep track of. Not sure why there's a whistle attached to it, or else it's just me. But it is a nice piece of equipment. For the person who needs chalk in your life, this is a really nice gift.

This is a spacious bucket that has plenty of room for multiple sessions worth of chalk and has large pockets to store everything you need for a day of bouldering. The design art will be a happy reminder of your favorite climbing destination.

Wow! This Gnarly Dood chalk bag is a beauty. I love the bright graphic design which reminds me so much of many of the placed I’ve been to in the American South West. This bag is huge. Thing of a large "purse" style reusable lunch bag. Almost anyone should be able to place both of their hands inside this bag at one time. The bag is constructed of a thick weave heavy polyester/nylon? Material that has a rugged nice feel. Inside the bag is a finely woven fleece material to actually hold your chalk. The top seam of the bag has a strong band of hook and loop closure material (Velcro) The closes this bag tight and snugly. After squeezing together the Velcro top, the two ends (left and right) of the top of the bag snaps together with a plastic fastener, forming a loop. This is very similar to how a “dry bag” used in boating would add a secondary means of closing a bag. The generous bottom of this bag give it a bottom that allows this bag to “stand up” on its own instead of flopping over. This bag is not cheap, but consider it as your top choice if you're ready to splurge a bit on a fine chalk bag. There is a well built brush loop of sewn elastic on one side. The front and back sides each has a good sized zippered compartment that will easily hold a large cell phone, and other stuff. I’m looking forward to using this.

If you're a dedicated climber, your thumbs are probably already really strong, so you'll have no problem getting this bag open. It has the bulletproof kind of velcro that is sooooooo hard to get open --but it is a challenge for us mere mortals.I use chalk bags for dog training and so was a little surprised to see how huge this bag was when it arrived. That caused me to rethink how I use it.The print is totally joyous, and I'm glad to have it in my kit. But it's more of a "set it down and go to it" kind of chalk bag. I can't wear it on my waist, which is what I usually do. It holds a ton of stuff -- treats, medicine bottles and toys, but is a tiny bit inconvenient due to the lack of carry or wear options. I like the nice roomy pockets on both sides. There are clips at the sides so you can fold the bag around and clip it on itself, so that's pretty much the only way to carry the bag.I removed a star for the lack of carry/wear convenience. If it had tabs on each side, that would make it easier for me to pull the velcro open (I think). The clips are on tabs, but they are at the ends so pulling on them doesn't pull the velcro open. The clips are tight into the side tabs with no real room for popping in a carabiner. Just not an easy carry. If you're using it for chalk, you might miss that there's no drawstring liner to retain the chalk. The opening is huge, so if you tip over, your treats (or chalk) could fly on its own. Don't kick it accidentally! But, definitely a fun bag.

i love this bucket so much. it’s so cute and i get a lot of compliments, however… the velcro is ripping off already and it’s getting harder to open. the inside is fabric and the second i open it, there’s a cloud of chalk and everyone around me chokes on it :((
