I find it very accurate. And, a little secret- not a lot of people know that you can remove the thermometer from its holder, then slide it through that little loop that is on the pocket clip. Bang, you've got a handle for it now.

This thermometer runs a couple degrees higher than my others? The small dial is hard on my old eyes. Good backup to my battery powered digital with the understanding its a couple degrees off.

This is what I was looking for. With the higher temps this summer, vehicle gets hot. Use a sunscreen blocker on windshield but the inside is very hot. Wanted to check out the temp when driving. I put in the cup holder and read the temp. Checked it again after driving some distance and temp registered was lower. Also placed by vent and it registered the air condition temp was much lower. I was pleased to be able to see the temp changes by using this. Made me feel satisfied that the air conditioner was working properly and putting out cool air. Yes I would recommend if you want to check air conditioner in your vehicle.

I ordered one of these to use for automotive A/C work. Right out of the box I noticed it read about 30 degrees high. I decided to try and test it in my A/C vent, and on max cold the thermometer struggled to read 80°. Amazon agreed to send me a replacement at no cost to me, which I was happy about. But what do you know? When the replacement came in, it had the same problem! Now I'm stuck with two defective thermometers and I'll have to buy another thermometer from a different maker to get the accurate readings I need. Beware of this defect and don't buy unless you're willing to take the chance of getting an inaccurate product!*Photo was taken at about 70°F room temperature, (not tampered). Left reads 102° and right reads 107°. This is ≈ 30° off from the true temperature, and notice that they don't even at least read the same as each other!**Edit - I found out that these thermometers are adjustable by using a 10mm wrench to hold the bolt head beneath the gauge and twisting the thermometer face. I then zeroed both thermometers in ice water to 32°F. However, the readings were still at least 10° off when left at room temperature. (The thermometers also gave different readings from each other even after zeroing both of them...) So instead I just adjusted them to room temperature instead. I don't trust the readings as accurate and still would not recommend these thermometers for anything more than guess work.
