The pad is produced from heavy-weight 20# white recycled paper containing a minimum of 30% post-consumer waste. The sheets are lined in the long direction, with a red margin line. There are 40 sheets per pad, and each pad is stapled and tape bound along the 11" dimension. The sheets are micro-perforated for easy tear-out to a finished size of 11" x 8.5".

Works fine as a mouse pad (can write on it, too, of course; it's not cold to the touch as are some mouse pads; it's not hard surface like some really annoying mouse pads; it's quiet; it's got lines the optical mouse can "see"; it looks good on my desk; it's just the right size. I covered the binding logo with a double layer of correction tape.

Not only are they great for taking notes in college lectures, but the pages are also a must - have for drawing. I personally have always drawn illustrations on notebook paper before going digital to Adobe Illustrator. Problem was, I sometimes wanted a landscape scene, and I RELY on those subtle blue lines in notebook paper. Graph paper never worked for me. So when I tried to do a landscape drawing on regular notebook paper, I couldn't fit my art vision in. When I turned the paper horizontally, the lines turned vertical... I searched for a type of notebook paper that allows me to sketch landscape art with horizontal guidelines. I love it, and I will continue to buy this product.
