So far this is a decent tuner. That's about all it is good for. I look forward to trying the winder when I have to change strings. Should make life a bit easier. Bought the bundle with custom case. The case fits like a glove and is well padded. It's a bit heavy but once you get use to the weight you don't notice. Easier then manual tuning.

I am one of those "basics only" kind of people who think doing things the hardest way possible is the truist form of expression, and have not bought one of these for the price. But I have over 14 stringed instruments (guitars, bass, ukulele, and others), that I like to play, and stopping to tune is a bother. Not sure of how this would work in a loud setting (which isn't my house), but at least here at home, tuning took no more than a couple of seconds and was easy to work with. The App didn't add value except to update the firmware, but I don't do alternate tunings and forgot to sync anyhow, so the current ukulele setup is just "Aa". If you buy one, you'll understand if you're in a hurry. Otherwise I thinks it's a good buy.

This is a cool little product. I really like it for my 12-string acoustic guitar. The good: easy to use. So many alternate tunings. Can be used with any stringed instrument. It is accurate. I don't know if it is perfect, but I compared it to my headstock tuner, and 3 of the strings are dead on, and 3 are just a little bit off. I don't know which tuner is wrong, and which is right, but they are incredibly close, and my ear can't tell the difference. Having a metronome included is cool. The Bad: It is a little awkward to use on the G,B, and E strings on guitars with headstocks with 3 pegs on either side of the headstock. G is the hardest to do, but you get used to it. I doubt there is any way they can improve that, so it isn't really a big negative for me. I haven't used the feature yet, but I think where this thing really pays for itself is alternate tuning. It doesn't require a lot of thought to quickly get to an alternate tuning. It does require some initial programming, but the menu is pretty intuitive, so not an issue. I haven't used the winding feature yet either, but I am sure that will be my favorite feature. The metronome is cool. I have only used it once, but I sat it on the stand next to me, and the vibration feature made it spin in a circle. I was afraid it was going to fall off the stand, but it just sat there and spun around. all in all, excellent product.

Besides having dozens of preprogrammed standard and alternate tunings, you can also easily add others. For instance, I wanted to add Nashville tuning for one of my guitars and was able to do it easily in about a minute. Also I wanted all of my tunings to be in 432hz rather than 440hz and again it was simple. The available app which can be on your computer or phone, is great for more easily adding all of your instruments to your list and also a picture if you wish. Well worth the money.

Is it expensive? Yes.Is it worth it? Yes.Amazing. Just place it over your tuning peg then pluck your corresponding string; hold the roadie 3 steady as it adjusts itself. It seems to lower the pitch slightly, before bringing the string into perfect tuning. I have It set up for precise tuning, which they say takes longer, but at most I just pluck the string no more than 3 times until it tunes by itself. It works with the Roadie app, but you don’t need the app. I love it it keeps a color photo of each instrument and remembers what tuning you want. So far I just use standard tuning. Added bonus… I don’t have to wipe fingerprints off of my tuning pegs anymore.

First the good. Is it an automatic tuner that is worth a darn? Yes.So the original release didn't include the tune-up option. Firmware update right away added it. That was huge. Accurate tuning mode seems useable, I couldn't really see much point in disabling accurate tuning and tune-up modes. I guess if you wanted to get NEAR-in-tune super quickly...Point is, the biggest complaint about automatic tuners is that they aren't accurate. This thing is absolutely great accuracy-wise. I'll go into some of the problems in a bit.The device itself is great, easy to use. Very navigable.Battery life seems pretty decent, although I have comments on that too. Thanks for the USB-C charging port. Honestly, I'm shocked so many devices are still micro-USB, glad this one isn't.I tuned up a 12 string acoustic, 7 string electric, (2) 6 string acoustics, a 6 string acoustic/electric, a 6 string electric, a martin backpacker travel guitar, a ukulele, a banjolele, and a McNally Strumstick (grand).Tuned them all, accurately and easily (for the large part: slight issues listed below.)Constructive criticisms...It's clunky to use because that 4-way button accidentally registers down or up while I'm trying to hit left and right. Can be annoying. It's too sensitive, or I'm just too clunky with my crippled thumb. It's not too bad though, just an annoyance.Finding your tuning sucks on the device. Just so many. The mobile app sucks, a real letdown, I expected a lot more. The lack of computer app support sucks. I can't even launch the iPad app on my M1 arm mac, just crashes, would love to see M1 support there. The app is only good for easily typing names and re-organizing the list of tunings. It is required to update firmware, which you most certainly want to do to get the tune-up option. The app sync is quirky as heck. At one point, I had a broken instrument on the tuner, it was a different color font - white instead of red. I couldn't select it, it just flashed the screen. I couldn't get into the instrument to delete it. Ended up having to factory reset.Being able to order tunings to put the most used ones nearer to the top is nice. BUT why can't you organize your list of instruments? There's so much missing from the app.No computer support is crazy, this is where I was really let down with the app. I was really hoping for a decent app I could easily go through and add instruments and any custom tunings by simply typing it all in with a keyboard and uploading to the device. Well, the app tries to do that, but its really weak-sauce. Super disappointed in the app.500mAh battery? Really? That dinky thing is the biggest they could fit? I mean, the website says you get 150 tunings off one charge. The battery life seems fine. Although I'd certainly bring a battery backup. I'm just surprised over such a small battery.Funny con: Darn tuner looks just like my vape box that I use medicinally *wink*. I mean really alike, it's funny. I imagine at some point I'm going to grab my vape box, put it on a tuning peg and my guitar is going to blow thick clouds out the sound hole and eat all my potato chips. But hey, the upside of it is if I accidentally try to take a drag out of my tuner, it might make me sing better, right?Just kinda funny they went with the "vape box" looking form factor there. It is pretty easy to hold, even with my nearly handicapped left hand. It's a little flaky on the 12 string acoustic. That high G string... seemed to work okay-ish with standard tuning. But maybe that ultra-light little #9 string just doesn't vibrate enough, because it was flaky. Tried to use it for 1-full-step-down tuning and it just wouldn't tune that high G (F4 in this case).***It broke my high G string, as kind of expected. Darn things break all the time with manual tuning, not a surprise that we snapped that string on the 3rd attempt to use it on the 12 string. Not a con: I struggled a bit with the one non-standard instrument. The McNally Strumstick. It's a 3 stringed diatonic instrument. Think a dulcimer that looks like a mini/skinny martin backpacker (also designed by McNally). It's a weird one. I got the tunings in there and they work, but there was some confusion on my part on A3 vs A4 and such in the various tunings.I foresee lots of broken strings in my future, because it jerks the tuning knob awful suddenly fast and hard sometimes. Not a fan of that. It should have a more gradual/gentle starting motion and speed up if it needs to.---Overall---This is probably the best automatic tuner ever created. It's accurate or fast. Very fast string winder. This is a blessing for me, as a handicapped guitar player whose left thumb and fingers just barely work enough to play guitar, and not very well. Operating tuning pegs has always been such a pain for me with my near-useless thumb, I've had my son tune my guitars and replace my strings for the past 2.5+ years. Now I can tune my own much easier. I'm looking forward to playing in alternate tunings - something I seldom have ever done because tuning has always been such a literal pain.If you have a lot of instruments. Or if you replace a lot of strings. If you play with alternate tunings. If you're a guitar tech, a luthier, a roadie... this thing is friggin' great. If you're handicapped... wellIf you have a guitar and stick to standard tuning for the vast majority of the time, might be a waste of money.I'm beyond happy I got this thing. I wish it wasn't so clunky in the interface, I wish that input pad wasn't so sensitive. I wish the app didn't feel like an untested beta. I wish I could hook it up to my computer and it would download a CSV or something I could easily edit in a spreadsheet. A yaml. XML. sqlite, whatever. Just something easy to get into. I REALLY wish I could organize my instruments like you can tunings. But the tuner itself? There's finally a good automatic tuner out there. The tuner kicks butt. You probably aren't going to regret getting it.I absolutely recommend this roadie 3 tuner. Very happy with it so far. We'll see how it holds up.
