So they don't look like they would hold water well and if it's cold out I'm sure they will split.They are 13.5lbs with play sand in them. That should be plenty, I don't think they are going to go anywhere, even in a storm. The red and white plastic sections seem cheap but they are sturdy enough I can lift it by the poles. Hopefully they hold the no parking tape I bought. I can't comment on the chain as it's not long enough for my needs

I purchased these to use in my Mom's garage to help her avoid backing into her narrow garage door. The product was easy to assemble. However, the materials are very light and don't feel very sturdy. You can weight the bases by filling with water or sand - however one of the bases I received had a faulty drain plug - probably not an issue with sand but 1/2 the water leaks out in that base. Overall, its going to work for her garage - but I wouldn't use these outside or in a situation where there is heavier use.

1. These fade in the sun so they end up turning all white. I put red reflective tape all over it haha. Then the plastic breaks off that holds the cheap plastic chain links. The whole thing is hilarious. So I rigged it the best I could. It looks like something out of the Beverly hillbillies lol

Used these as props at a business meeting. They were a great attention getter. Quick set up and take down. Much sturdier then I expected.

I needed to block off the rear part of my driveway to keep the mail carrier from turning around in front of my garage. This works perfectly. I filled the base with water instead of sand, but either one can be used. The pole can pull out of the bottom easily if you lift it up with the base filled, but I plan on reinforcing the bar in the bottom to eliminate that issue. Otherwise, just what I needed.
