I recently moved back to iPhone and since it’s an older model that still sports the lightning port, my beloved Gamesir G8 (USB-C) is shelved until I can get the 15 or 16. I’m very pleasantly surprised by the quality of this controller and it retains the things I love about the gamesir (wired connection, pass through charging and headphone jack) while remaining comfortable and with a phone mount that balances the phone over the controller well enough to not get tired quickly. While it’s not as comfortable as the G8, for the price I got it for, I’m more than happy!

This controller is everything you need it to be for iPhones between iPhone 7 and iPhone 14 Plus, Once you get to iPhone 15 and beyond you need a Lightening to USB-C adapter to get it to work.While the screen looks like it’s too close to the analog sticks it is not, I’ve never accidentally bumped my phone screen playing.Both the controller and 3.5mm headphone jack provide lag less or low latency audio and controller responses.While the controller itself uses minimal power for use and weighs about half as much as the phone. It allows 35 watt pass through charging to the phone even while playing.I played on my set for hours with the kids in the room watching TV then in the bathroom then I was playing outside with seamless transition inbetween while playing.LASTLY!!! It’s important to note that this is not recognized as an “Xbox one” controller. It registers as either a “programable gamepad” or takes on drivers from the Xbox 360 controller via “LUDUMAP” the driver used to run the controller as a device. You have to install LUDUMAP but you don’t have to use it beyond initial setup.On XBOX Series X Remote play my controller registers as a third party gamepad which the console accepts. Sometimes I do have to turn the app on and off OR PRESS *** at the top right to turn off mute which is the default microphone setting in remote play when you start.On STEAM Big Display mode it merely had to be adjusted to the controller or gamepad settings I wanted to use. I started up fallout 3 + DLCs just to find out the top LB and RB didn’t work till I adjusted my gamepad settings in the Steam menu to recognize Xbox 360 controller settings and everything worked perfect.I played Minecraft over Xbox remote play and the stand alone pocket edition on my phone solo, both worked perfectly turn key and go start.The App “LUDUMAP” allows you to see all the games this controller is registered to properly play before purchasing it as well. Just designate it’s the model you will be using.Some games such as “ROBLOX” can’t be played on the phone itself and must be ported through Xbox Remote Play in order for the controller to register the inputs for the game. This issue mainly persists for some mobile/phone based versions of certain games.

When I received the controller it looks very nice and worked just fine. After 6 months it started to not work properly. I thought it was maybe the game I was playing and I removed it and did a complete reboot of the game and cleared things up on my phone and when I tried the controller again it still does not work. I plugged my old controller in and it still works just fine so I know it’s this controller. I would not recommend this controller.

First off I’d like to say that this is a pretty decent mobile game controller. All of the buttons work, the pass through charging port works flawlessly and the headphone jack does what it’s supposed to. For about $25 plus a free month of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate is definitely a steal that almost can’t be beaten. Almost.Now to the cons, even though all of the buttons do work, im already noticing that sometimes when pressing them they get a bit stuck and you’d have to either press another button for it to get unstuck or just wait for it to push itself back up. Pretty sure that’s because the buttons are a bit spongy off bat straight out of the box. The plastic used on this controller also feels a bit cheap considering that when this isn’t on sale, it’s sold for a whopping $70 (basically what the black version currently sits at about). I also wish the lighting cable used on it wasn’t as long as it is but that’s more of a pet peeve type of thing. It’s honestly probably for the best that it is pretty long so if you were to lose the piece that holds the phone, you’d still be able to use it without having to rig it up super close together or something like that.Altogether, it’s honestly not bad of a controller though and with the proper care I could see it possibly lasting a good while ONLY IF the buttons never get to a point where they get stuck and completely stop working. Also it works with any game that has controller support and I do like the little companion app that comes with it. Hope to see an upgraded version in the future if possible and I’d definitely cop it if these few flaws were fixed on.

If you’re a fan of the Xbox controller & you don’t mind having a cord plugged into the side of your phone for connection then it’s definitely one to get. Only down sides I ran into were the cord is rather long so you have extra that’s kinda in the way from time to time, as well as it can get a little top heavy because of the way the phone is mounted. Up sides are it comes with a free month of Xbox live subscription as well as the price point. All n all it was a good purchase. I got it after having 2 BackBones break on me both with the same issue of the left stick getting a mind of its own after about 4-6 months of regular usage.

Amazing, kids and myself love this, really useful when on the move or away from home. Great quality and well made. Probably will by more… great for mobile games and cloud gaming… you won’t be disappointed.

I have purchased two controllers in the last 3 months! Both of which have broken within a month give or take a week or two! The wiring they use is weak and the cable loosens and the controller will then proceed to stop working and no matter how much you play with the wire it will just keep disconnecting! Absolute bigger waste of money!! STAY AWAY FROM THIS PRODUCT AT ALL COST! It’s a rip off!! VERY VERY DISAPPOINTING!
