Great for cramp spaces. Doesn't cut as fast as the big ones (to be expected)

The Ridgid Close Quarters Pipe Cutter was an absolute lifesaver when I installed a hot water recirculating pump. I’m not a professional plumber, but this tool made me feel like one. It’s compact, easy to handle, and perfect for working in tight spaces where a regular pipe cutter just won’t fit.The cutting process was smooth and precise. It tackled copper pipes with ease, leaving clean, burr-free cuts that were ready for my sharkbite fittings. I was impressed by how little effort it took to get a professional-quality result, especially with how quick and accurate it was! The solid construction of the tool feels durable, and it didn’t slip or wobble, even during multiple cuts. What really stood out was the convenience. The small design allowed me to maneuver in cramped areas without struggling, which was essential for installing the pump in my water heater system. If you’re tackling any plumbing project—whether it’s big or small—this tool is worth every penny.Whether you’re a seasoned pro or just a weekend DIYer like me, the Ridgid Close Quarters Pipe Cutter is a game-changer. It saved me time, effort, and a lot of frustration. Highly recommended!

Easy to cut pipe, easy to get into small places. Maybe a bit flimsy, but otherwise no issues.

Cuts well but mechanism a little sloppy. Love that it fits in some pretty tight spaces. i don't need the tiny clearance of a fixed cutter for most jobs and this is the best adjustable tube cutter I've found in terms of quality. wish it was a little more rock solid with the mechanism, hence it's not five stars, but still would recommend.

I don’t write a lot of reviews anymore despite how much I buy on Amazon (actually, I don’t write a lot of reviews anymore BECAUSE of how much I buy on Amazon) but I spent half a day crowing about this product to my husband.I needed something to cut the metal pipe of an RV bunk ladder I’d bought in order to make it the right height. I’ve cut PVC pipe before but not metal. I read the reviews and decided to go with this tool. I didn’t look at the dimensions when I bought it and was a little taken aback with how small it was when it arrived. But I crossed my fingers.I pulled out the ladder with its 3/4” metal pipe and then pulled out the pipe cutter. I read the instructions, marked the pipe where I wanted to cut it, and got started. You just screw the opening down so that the round rolling metal blade is reasonably tight against your mark. Then you twist the clamp (the cutter) around in a circle so that the rolling blade goes all the way around the pipe a few times. As the rotation becomes easier you tighten it again and keep rolling. You continue this process until you’ve cut through the pipe.It doesn’t take long and the cut was really clean. Since this was my first time cutting metal pipe I actually enjoyed myself. The clamp is quite small but really effective. When I was done I screwed it down for storage. When it’s completely screwed down the metal blade is protected and inaccessible. I do t hesitate to store it my tool drawer in the RV. Now I just need more opportunities to cut metal pipe.
