I like this so much better than crating our dogs. I have a rescue who is determined to sleep with us, jumping up in bed dozens of times during the night and won't take no for an answer. It would break my heart to put her in a normal size crate. I purchased this gate to corner off a space in our bedroom for our two dogs to sleep. As it has no top, it feels much more open. I got the 6 panel, but only need 4 panels to create a gated area of them using two walls in the bedroom for the other sides. The best part of this system is that it easily folds so you can move it around without taking it apart. We currently have contractors in the house, so we can use this to gate off the area around the hallway and stairs, allowing the contractors free access in and out without the dogs pestering them. This is sturdy, looks great and the swinging door is easy to use. Highly recommend this gate system -- well worth the money!

Luv our new Richell gate - 6 panel convertible - Easy to assemble - quick delivery by Amazon.ca. Ordered online and delivered in 3 days. Cheaper to buy from amazon.ca than Petsmart.com. This is the solution if you have a wide irregular openings. Good for small to medium dogs.Our pug is now contained in the kitchen with ceramic tiles flooring and this saves my hardwood in the living room. The wood frame blends with my kitchen cupboard. For a medium size smart dog, he/she may figure out how to open the gate lock, but for our small pug, this product works very well.

The quality is good and it is really fine looking. It has been great for housebraking and crate training our Shiba "Inu" puppy (smallest japanese breed of the spitz family). However, it needs to be improved with some sort of reinforcement when used as a play pen; a type of locking mechanism or support to lock the panels when aligned together. These would make the "walls" more stable. We worry that it will not serve it's purpose when she grows up and reaches her adult strength. It seems wobbly and she might be able to move it around. The lock of the door also needs improvement, it locks well from the bottom but not from the top lock.However, I would certainly recommend this product. It would just be perfect with small improvements.

The gate is well constructed and nicely appointed. It looks more like a piece of furniture than a typical gate. it is quite high and will make even taller pets think twice about putting their paws on the top of it. Sturdy and the gate opening for humans is very convenient. it opens easily but locks securely.

This is an amazing product, nearly perfect. I am so glad that I listened to the good reviews. I did not have any of the negative experiences mentioned in those few 2 or 3-star comments. My husband was able to put it together with no trouble.We are now able to get rid of three other items of dog paraphernalia: a big crate, a free-standing gate, and a pen! I have two little dogs, so I could have gotten away with it not being as tall (31 inches), but it's beautiful so it doesn't matter. I can see that big or rambunctious jumpers might be able to knock it down when it's used as a gate or jump out of it when it's used as a pen, but those kinds of dogs might be hard to confine anyway.The gate works exactly as I expected, and the door panel is sufficiently wide to get through when you use it as a room divider (same as the other panels about 31 inches wide opening , and even the four-panel version makes a big enough pen for my two girls when I have to use it as as pen/crate (about 31 inches square inside measurement or 34 inches x 31 inches. When I use it as a pen, I love having the door so the girls can go in on their own, and I don't have to lift them over, as I did with the baby play pen I was using.The Richell site has the full manual online so you can see the cautions about using it as a room divider with respect to how to set it up. It just shows you the way to stand it so the dogs can't easily knock it over. Overall, I love it and am thrilled with the purchase, expensive though it was. I don't understand the measurements on the Amazon site, "Measures 130 by 31-1/2 by 13/16." Each panel is about 31" square and flexible where they join so you can easily create whatever configuration you need. The panels are also easily disassembled by just removing a pin at the joint. The panels fold easily, and are not heavy or cumbersome. Much easier than my free-standing gate which was an eyesore in the room when not in use. Now, if I want to I can fold the whole business and leave no doggy stuff out when guests arrive.I never had to have so much "dog stuff" until we adopted the second dog, but she's a chewer, does not have reliable potty training, and needs to be confined if I can't keep eyes on her. This is big enough and strong enough so that this little energizer bunny (Yorkie: 7 pounds) is safe and so is my house, and the love muffin (Maltese:8 pounds) can be with her if she wants. Peace is restored to the house.

We have been looking for something to keep our two yorkies from doing their business on our hardwood in the great room for two years. We have a 12' opening to secure. Have tried room dividers and expensive scandinavian baby fence/gate combinations that had to be screwed to walls or expensive newell posts. Nothing was effective. Out of exasperation, I was even considering having something custom built. Then I found this on line. We got it today. Set up in less than 15 minutes and once configured could not have fit the opening any closer if it had been purpose built. It is attractive and functional and complements our woodwork. We are very pleased with it. The built in access gate is a great feature.

This system is absolutely perfect. We have a 12-week old puppy who can scale walls and an open living space that doesn't lend itself to expansion gates. I purchased the 6 panel system and have to say this is the best thing since sliced bread.+ Totally flexible. We currently have it configured as two 3-panel systems. But the linking mechanism is so easy, you can quickly change it around. This is **loads** better than a fixed hinge system, or a fixed 2 or 3 or 4... panel system. The 6 panels (one being a gate) can be put together anyway you need it - put the gate in the middle, at the end - it doesn't matter. Break into a 3/3, a 2/4. The only thing I wouldn't recommend is a single panel because it needs at least one partner for stability. But you can put two panels together and form a "V" barrier.+ The gate is nice, but because these panels move so easily and move *in either direction*, I can just as easily swing an end panel aside and walk thru. So even though it comes with only one gate, I have no issues getting past the other 3-panel section.+ Very stable when used correctly+ Folds back on itself into a fairly small package that I can tuck away in the den (or a larger closet) when company is coming+ Light enough that I can move it quickly - one of my 3-panel systems is permanently in place to keep puppy out of the open dining room, but the other is used to block 3 different openings depending on where I am (the TV room, the kitchen or the stairs). So in essence, I can re-configure the confinement space quickly.+ It's good looking - blends in much better than the run of mill white plastic variety.It may be expensive, but after only a few days, I am totally hooked on this. You will get your money's worth.
