This is the best notebook. Works awesome with my Montblanc fountain pen. No bleeding or ghosting.

Fountain pen enthusiasts recommend this paper as it tends to show off fountain pen inks to best effect. Think of it as the minimum quality paper to use. (Clairefontain owns this brand and makes a slightly better paper for sheening ink.) Try it with Diamine Majestic Blue, or Diamine Polar Glow. If really brave use Organic Studio Nitrogen.

When the package arrived the delivery parcel was in perfect condition. When I opened the package I immediately noticed the notebook was severely damaged. I was very excited to use this notebook, but this has turned into a very negative experience. :(

The paper quality is excellent. Smooth but with just the right amount of feedback. But I wish I got the blank version. If you are used to American college rule spaced paper, the spacing here is quite small. It would look odd writing a letter with writing that small. And if you "double it up" using the dots to make the letters double the size, it looks to large. Just be aware of that and maybe get the version with no dots or lines.

The Rhodia Dotpad, well known in the stationery circles as one of the most versatile pad. As the paper being of 80 gsm and it is smooth works well with all the most demanding pens, it shows little bleed and is a very smooth surface to write on. (On a side note I would suggest buyers to use pens with fast drying ink as it takes a while to dry on smooth paper and there is no tooth to soak it). The pad is well designed, all the sheets are perforated so that they can be torn off. I do believe the rhodia wants the customer to tear off the pages as they go through the pad as it will get quite hard to use if one folds over the sheets. The delivery rate is quite expensive would be better if it wasn't.It is priced appropriately as other competitors such as mypaperclip are around the same price but ship with muken polar sheets which are great to use with ink pens and have a decent tooth to it. While the well known brands such as midori, tomoe, leuchttrum1917 and moleskin cost more than twice its price that too with delivery.

Vale ogni centesimo.

Great for practicing handwriting. Great thickness, calligraphy ink does not bleed through.

Really good quality paper. Very smooth and thick enough. No bleeding with none to very minimal ghosting from my favorite pens (pigma micron, faber castell pitt, g2 pilot, tombow dual brush pens, stabilo 88, etc). So because of this, I will buy the Rhodia dotted notebooks next!

I have been using this for hand lettering. Love the idea of picking up a small book to practice in that has been designated for this specifically. I noticed it's not great with my Lamy fountain pen but I tend to practice with brush markers, my dual tip and Microns. The Lamy doesn't work because the paper has a little bit of a slick surface or I just need more practice with it. Don't know which. It doesn't bother me anyway. I like that the dots are pale gray not a in your face color. Love the orange cover. Will buy again.

Do you want to be the kind of person who carries a recognizably expensive pad of paper around with you, or are you so into treating yourself that you don't even care who sneers at your stationery? If it's the first thing, well, this will do the trick. If it's the second, this paper really is very, very nice. I like it with a super fine Hi-Tec-C Maica, and with my stainless sharpie pen. Smooth as can be, and the dot pattern is where it's at. Used to be embarrassed carrying a conspicuous orange pad around, but you know, I'm worth it.
