General FAQ
JIC fittings are made in accordance with SAE J514 and ISO 8434-2 standards. A complete set of JIC fittings include a sleeve, nut, and body. JIC fittings are also known as flared fittings due to the 37-degree flared seating surface. It is recommended to be used in high-pressure applications.
Depending on the type of JIC fittings, there are several connection types:
- Type 1: JIC x JIC
- Type 2: JIC x BSPP
- Type 3: JIC x NPT
- Used in the installation of hoses.
- Made from stainless steel 316.
- Commonly used in hydraulic and fluid applications. Easy to maintain and install.
- JIC adjustable run tee connects female and male pipes from 3 directions together.
To install a JIC fitting, kindly refer to the steps below;
- Step 1: Ensure that there is no damage to the fitting and sealing surface. Cut the tube to the required length and flare the end to 37-degree before installation.
- Step 2: Lubricate the threads and the surface of the flare.
- Step 3: Insert the nut and sleeve onto the tube end connection. Align components for hand tightening and turn the flare nut until the sealing surface is fully contacted.
- Step 4: Check the tightening torque value and ensure the sealing is connected as per standard requirements.
