This is a great budget option to help reduce camera-shake taking videos...night and day difference with my DSLR. I do highly recommend getting the counterweight for it, really helps get the center of gravity pushed back onto your shoulder/torso making even a pro-grade DSLR feel almost weightless.I'm not a fan of the "sticks out the bottom" handle grip while shooting but you can ignore or unscrew it. I left it on but normally hold my camera by the regular camera grip (to operate the start/stop controls with my right-hand) and then keep my left-hand for operating the zoom ring. One minimal annoyance, I found the thumbwheel screw that secures the camera tripod mount in place can come off with vibration during transport when no camera is attached, I got some heat shrink tubing that I put a small ring below the threaded part and seems to make it less prone of getting lost. If you're worried about this you could also just put a 1/4-20 nut or any handy cold-shoe-mount tripod adapter on it and tighten the thumbwheel so it stays secure when not attached to a camera. For the cost, I haven't found anything that comes close to how simple and well this works.

I’ve had several of these over the years. For both stills and videos. They are well made and easy to adjust for most cameras. I use it for both video and stills.

I haven’t had a chance to use it outside of test runs with my camera. But in those test runs, it’s been solid. My footage is smooth and my camera feels stable on it.

This shoulder rig is perfect for run and gun filmmaking. I can get steadier shots using this than when handheld using my video camera. It's a great rig to buy on a budget as well. The materials are well made and took several minutes to put together.
