This is not as advertised. The drawer is not a soft close hinge type. I installed it anyway.

Lots of folks complaining about not getting a template when receiving the Rev-A-Shelf w/soft-close hinges. And, to be honest, I too was expecting to find one due to the multiple sets of instructions that came in the box. This is sloppy packaging by Rev-A-Shelf and you should take the instructions that reference an 'enclosed template' and just toss them - they are not applicable to the soft-close hinges, which have a different hole spacing than the regular hinges. The 2nd set of instructions included in the box show the exact SC hinge and these are the instructions that should be followed. Not hard once you understand that this is the instruction set to pay attention to. You will need to take some measurements to determine the correct placement on the drawer front. Placement on the cabinet frame (assuming you have a face frame) is easy and straightforward. I found that temporarily installing the hinges on the face frame first (pre-drill with 1/8" bit and then screw flathead screws in by hand) to prep the holes was most convenient. Then, I removed the hinges and installed them onto the drawer front (after determining correct reveal of course). Also installed the 2 screws for the tray at this point. Then, extended the hinges to fully open, slid the hinges back into position against the sides of the opening and re-installed the screws into the face frame. Then slid the tray onto the 2 screws. All works perfectly!

I redid my kitchen and my kitchen sink cabinet did not come with this installed. I have a tiny kitchen so every bit of storage space available to me I'm going to do. This is metal with soft close hinges and holds 12 sponges. They have plastic ones that are cheaper but again Plastic! Anytime I have an alternative to plastic; I take it whether it comes with a larger price tag or not.

ordered the 25" tip out shelf - waited a week for delivery - they sent a 28" one. did the whole return/exchange thing - again reordering the 25" tip out shelf - waited a week for delivery - received the 28" shelf again. shipped that back & gave up on an order from amazon. ordered a 24" tip out shelf from another place from the same manufacturer/seller - waited 2 days for delivery (a lot faster) - and finally received a 25" shelf. easy to install. looks and works great. amazing how bad the old one was that needed replaced - this one opens like a breeze! just wish shipment issues were rectified.

Operation is good, but the installation instruction could be better. Mine came with multiple instructions on different sheets and I was difficult to tell which was correct. One set was folded inside the hardware bag, the other was wrapped around the tray itself. My best advice is to test fit everything, if I had followed the directions as written (either set) the drawer would not have closed properly as the hinge needed to be installed off vertical to have sufficient tension to close the trim tight to the cabinet.Once installed it works well.

Easy to install and looks great. Fit perfectly. Followed the directions exactly, and the sink face door closes tightly with no gaps. I really like the soft-close hinges. Note: mine came with two different instruction sheets. One sheet mentioned using an included template to mark hinge holes for drilling, one sheet used only measurements. I called Rev-a-shelf to ask for a template. They said soft-close hinges do not have a template, and to use the instruction sheet with only measurements. No biggie, it still installed easily. Before I removed the sink door, I put painter's tape on the cabinet face frame around the outside edge of the door, to make sure the door was in the exact same place after installation...and it was, with no adjustments needed. This also helped with figuring the reveal measurement on the instruction sheet. Without the door tilted out, it looks exactly like it did before installation...which is what I wanted. Our previous cabinets had a tilt-out tray, but it was white plastic. The stainless steel tray is a nice upgrade.

Quality product that’s definitely a “must have”. On the other hand, the installation instructions (and diagrams) leave a lot to be desired. I wasted a lot of time trying to figure out the instructions, but once I tossed them and used old fashion common sense, it went pretty smooth. Before removing the cabinet face, use a pencil and trace the opening on the back of it.Install the two hinges, flush with the bottom and front of the cabinet frame.Measure from the side of the cabinet frame to the center of the openings where the screws will attach it to the cabinet face. They are oval, so you have a margin of error to work with.Add that measurement to the vertical line you originally traced on the back of the cabinet face and draw another vertical line. From the bottom traced line, fo up 1/4” and put a mark on the new vertical line you drew. That will be your first drill hole to attach the bracket to the face.Measure up from the bottom edge of the cabinet frame to the upper hole of the bracket and then apply that measurement to the new vertical line as well. (I can’t remember what that second measurement was). Drill your holes.Repeat for the other side.At this point I decided it would be easier to remove the brackets from the cabinet frame and then attach them to the cabinet face. Don’t over tighten. Leave a little play so that you can move the brackets side-to-side with a little pressure. Then, I placed a towel over the lower cabinet doors so that I could use them for support while getting the cabinet face lined up. From there, I used a phillips screwdriver to attach the left bracket to the left side of the cabinet frame and then did the same for the right side. Everything lined up perfectly and I used a stubby Phillips screwdriver to tighten down the screws that I had intentionally left a little loose.Don’t forget to drill your holes to attach the tray. You can do that at any point before the final step of the install.
