This retractable clothes line is perfect for your underwear or maybe a couple t-shirts but anything heavier and the line won't hold. If your looking for a long sturdy line like Grandma use to have them keep searching. it's not a bad item by any means it's not going to work as a permanent clothes line.

I got this retractable clothesline to use for the clothing that I hang dry after being washed. I had been hanging it on the shower curtain rod but my kids kept moving it. I can hang this retractable one in my bedroom and put it away when I am not using it. It does retract pretty slowly, but I assume that prevents it from spooling too fast inside the housing leading to it getting tangled in a way that can't be fixed.

I didn't want anything too visible from the road, but needed a discreet clothes line to hang my t-shirts and some sheets. The ability to run a line from one solid mount to the other but also easily undo when finished is fantastic. The line is sturdy, and the tensioning wheel definitely helps remove a lot of drooping. Clips for hangers are included - these grip the line and keep hangered items from sliding together in the center. Screws with anchors are included but I opted to use my 2 inch construction screws and just mount to studs. Functions well, and isn't an eyesore when not in use. Easy! Definitely recommend.

Works as expected. Easy to install! I love that I can hang clothes in the house now! I also like that I can put it away when not in use (retract the cord)

Very much a classic product. The unit is of good construction and is robust for what it needs to be. The span is reasonable and works well for the large room I am using it in. The unit can pull good tension to support wet clothes and has a clean and functional appearance.

The installation was bothersome. It was easy to get the smaller piece that the line hooks into on the wall, but the main part would not go on the metal piece when attached to the wall. It was easy to put it on when it wasn't attached though. Took us about twenty minutes of failure before we decided to go the glue route on that side. That 3-day wait is insane, you would think they could find a faster-working adhesive for the sticker. But we were able to get the part with the line inside eup finally.I would use this to hang light, very light items, like t-shirts, socks, and such, but it gets complicated once the weight starts to pile on. It will start to droop- a lot, even after I tightened it, it kept lowering- I had a couple of towels (3) and a sweatshirt on the line, and the line was stretched out about 10 feet.

I really like this indoor/outdoor waterproof retractable clothesline, it can be mounted basically anywhere there is a which makes it highly versatile both as a clothesline and for other things-hanging-from-a-line purposes! The only limiting factors are the approximately 165" span of the line and its 40lb max weight capacity. The main housing and hook housing have aluminum brackets that attach to the wall via the enclosed wall anchors and screws or adhesive, allowing near-comprehensive coverage. The line itself is a standard steel clothesline with a waterproof plastic covering, it has a plastic knob on the end that can be hooked into the separate smaller housing to hang the line. It automatically retracts into the plastic housing unless the lock switch at the bottom of the case is engaged. The line winds itself around a dial that can be hand-tightened from the outside, which not only eliminates any sagging during use but also means that if the automatic winding mechanism ever breaks, the retractable clothesline will still be functional. The package also contained 10 wire clips that can be used to attach hangers to the line.Having the ability to hang and retract the line in just a few seconds makes this line incredibly functional even in small spaces. The housing takes up basically no room when the line is inside and doesn't stick out as a major eyesore, it blends in like a smoke/CO2 detector. Not only can you hang clothes to dry from the line, but you could use it to hang posters, drawings, or other decor items. You could use it to hang signage in a store, you could keep it in your photography darkroom, you could use it to hang curtains as a temporary room divider. True, I've mainly been using it for laundry, but this could be really effective in so many creative applications, and I would recommend it to anyone!
