I appreciate the over-the-ear placement as opposed to the in-ear placement. I like the adjustability of the mic. This set is very light in weight.

These head phone/mic combo Will work with all the radios the seller lists and the USDX plus HF radio. I have a HEIL head mic for these radio, that I paid three time more for and much to my supprise these were almost as good.I like the PTT button better on these better. On air tests with both head sets, the people I talked to could not tell any real difference. The only down side was the head phone speaker was a bit thin sounding, volume was ok but but very little base. I found out out these were made by the same company that made the head set I use for my phone, my phone head set has a much broader aduio or more base . The seller is great, they will go out of there way to help a coustmer.

I use this headset with a Baofeng UV5R and it works pretty well. The PTT button can be a little sensitive but is not too much of a problem. When paired with the UV5R I recommend putting a rubber band around the volume adjust knob to prevent the sound from hurting your ears. The mic works very well and I have tested it with friends. They were able to hear me whispering pretty well. Overall it is pretty nice for the price. It is also relatively durable. I use it for airsoft as I wanted a lower profile headset. So long as you are somewhat careful not to crush the body it should last a decent amount of time.

The product worked initially. After several weeks my radio friends told me my transmitting quality was bad on non existent. Pretty cheap junk. Buy a better quality if you need a head set or you will just be wasting money and adding more junk to the waste stream.

UPDATE: I've lowered these to three stars. I've found them to be absolutely unuseable in loud crowded environments. All of the headsets have since stopped working or have broken, but at this price they're kind of disposable though. Just know that these will work fine for the short term, but I wouldn't use these in mission critical environments.I love these headsets EXCEPT when they break. The first time I used the three I bought was for a live webcast of a school basketball game. They were working until the 4th quarter when 1 out of the 3 decided to quit. Upon further inspection I found out the cable was coming out of the headset! That wiring was probably slightly defective as I have used the other two for numerous more live broadcasts and theater productions (may I add that (if the headset works) they are great for stage managers and general crew!) [UPDATE: I've since transitioned to the Eartek Ultralight headsets for mission critical events, and would not recommend these Retevis for web or theater] They're very light because they're made of plastic, but with that being said DON'T DROP THEM! They are decently comfortable as well! I was debating weather to give these a 3 star or four star, but since I love the other two so much I decided to give this product a four star. (A little about my background in this subject) I am the student director of theater technology and telecommunications at my school so I know good comm systems. I have worked with professional wireless comm systems such as telex and connex costing upwards of three.ZeroK (30k), and with low costing systems such as walkie talkies. These headsets (the ones I'm reviewing) give good sound quality, and don't squeeze your head as much as pro systems. But compared to pro systems they seriously are lacking build quality.
