How to use the bug net
When trying to capture an individual butterfly with a net, move slowly until you are in range. Position the net under the insect, then swing it upward and turn the handle so that it flips over and the captured insect cannot escape. Bring the butterfly net down to the ground and raise the end of it so that the insect can fly to the closed top, making it easier to get into another container.

Got it for my partners baby brother for Christmas (secret santa) and it was PERFECT. The kid runs through nets for bug and lizard catching faster than an athlete in the Olympics. This net is SUPER durable and it's height is adjustable too. Kid loves his present and we are so happy to not be replacing his net any time soon

The net lives up to expectations. I like how sturdy the metal is. The handle easily adjusts to allow for a fast extension. There are also net replacements that you can purchase but I have not needed them yet.

It went together easily and seems sturdy and a good size for my purposes. I got it to help catch the birds who fly into my screen porch and then cannot find the door out. It came in a timely manner and was well packed. The only thing I noticed worth mentioning is that it came with a small dent in the metal hoop, but I don't see that it will impact its durability. The hoop is broken down and packed in a bubble wrap plastic bag so I'm sure nobody even noticed it before shipping it to me.

I worked in bird rehab for a number of years and last year a friend of mine had a nest of baby starlings that she gave me to raise which I did. I had them in my chicken coop as they were already fully feathered and just needed to be taught how to feed themselves. Occasionally one would hide in a corner and I would have to catch it to force feed it. As I mentioned this net was a bit too big for my purpose and a smaller net would have been perfect but this came in handy when another bird got stuck on my screened in porch and I was able to catch it. I also caught a flying squirrel in the net that somehow got into our house. It would probably work for catching a regular squirrel that happens to get in your house. A study net with a bigger than necessary handle but it is well made and can come in handy.

I bought this net to catch carpenter bees and it does the job. I can catch most carpenter bees as they fly near wood used for the deck or carport posts. Once they are caught in the net I transfer them to a jar. I have always thought if I kill them in the net the net would build up with their remnants (I would rather say this than be graphic.)

Ordered these for catching butterflies. The material is soft and wont damage the butterflies wings. I like that we can change to pole length whenever and can secure it tightly. These also work great for kids. My only issue is, the large screw at the base of the net ring and pole, keeps loosening. I have tightened it many times and still comes loose.

Heavy duty net great product, but it came bent in the package. I bent it back to where it should be and now it works fine.

We bought this because we sometimes get BATS in our house. We love bats and appreciate them, but they are not allowed to stay in our house! We used to try and swat them out of the air with a broom and, unfortunately, killed one or two of them. We also have a cat who is VERY good at leaping and swatting them mid-flight (which prompts a veterinary visit for a Rabies booster that costs us $80). This net, we hoped, would be a better alternative...and we were right! The mesh is fine enough that the bat we caught in it didn't get all tangled up and injure itself, and it's deep enough that I could cinch it to gently confine the bat until we took it outside to release it. One quick flip of the handle and away went the bat, into the night sky. The telescoping handle is a great feature! We are not tall people and we have 10 foot ceilings in our home, so having the option to lengthen that handle is very nice. 100% recommend this net to others who have a bit of a bat issue and don't want to harm the bats whilst giving them the boot. Oh, and assembly was a breeze - took all of two minutes to put together.
