This kit has just about everything you need to replace your original Nintendo DS shell, screws, or buttons. This does not include any hardware, so if one of the screens are broken or part of the motherboard or one of the cables are damaged, this kit doesn’t have anything to repair it. If you’re missing a button, or a button is broken, then this kit does include the buttons, as advertised – including a stylus, which feels cheap, unfortunately.You will need to reuse the two hinge mechanisms from the old DS.The shell itself doesn’t feel as smooth as the original casing, but it doesn’t feel like sandpaper. I used the screws from my old DS to put everything back together and it felt like the screw holes were never threaded. I didn’t have any issues reassembling the hardware onto the new shell.One glaring flaw that I’ve noticed – and the main reason why I’m giving this 4 stars – is the back bezel for the bottom screen is not flush with the front bezel. It doesn’t matter if you use the old or new bezel, it will not be flush with the rest of the console, like it would be with the original console.
