I work on wide format inkjet printers and needed to be able to accurately measure platen temperatures in the range of 40-50°c. I've tried the infrared temperature guns and found them finicky and not designed for the relatively low range I needed to measure. I gave it about 3-5 minutes to stabilize and give a good reading. Has a chunky and strong ring magnet surrounding the contact point. Seems solidly made and was exactly what I needed. This is staying in my bag of tricks.
