I bought this so that my biggest child, my husband, would have something all for him to play with while we were at the beach. He loved playing with it. He had so much fun digging and moving sand. They battery did not last the entire time we were out, but it worked for a couple of hours. This toy is not made for the sand, but it was pretty durable, all things considered.

I do not know how long this toys will last but it was a big hit as Christmas present.

The function for the price was excellent. The rechargeable batteries are nice. It was a crowd pleaser during the hoildays.

And the shovel on the excavator stopped working within an hour or two

The excavator worked for 5 minutes and the dump truck would not even work on a flat grassy area.
