This drum is fantastic! It produces a very rich deep tone and is super easy to play. I'd been eyeing this particular drum for about 6 months before purchasing and I can say for certain I wish I'd bought it six months ago! It was packaged well and arrived quickly.As others have said, the video clips here in the reviews do not do justice to the beautiful sound it creates. If you're on the fence, definitely get it!

Amon the best hand drums, this is the supreme one! The best of the best! The sound is exquisite. Also, I like the fact that is synthetic and not real skin animal.

This drum has the richest and tight bass sound I've ever heard from only a 16 inch drum. Sounds like this kind of bass would be coming from a much bigger size drum. I had to return it because a black drum is not good for me to play in my pray room. I got the white 22 inch drum thinking it would be louder and more bass, but I was very disappointed when i heard it sounding very twanggy instead of the boom. The 22 inch white drum doe not produce bass, you literally hear twang twang instead of boom boom. I returned the 22 inch and got the 16 inch white drum, which sounds like twanggy but nothing like the tight solid base from the 16 inch black version. The black drum head is made from vinyl, and the white drum head is made from something they call fiber skin, which is complete garbage in my opinion for it to be on a drum that is meant for bass. I really don't have much time to write reviews, but I want to write this to let people know to get the right drum and it makes a whole big difference more than just picking the color you like of black or white. Remo, great job on the black drum, horrible idea on the fiber skin.

I’m glad I waited and did some research on buying my first drum for ceremonies.I loovveee this Buffalo drum! I would have preferred a white drum instead of black, but when I read the reviews and heard this one I loved the deep sound of it. I do have a couple of native 10” high real drums that sound nothing like this one and can’t compare. I can’t imagine wanting another drum after this one. This is perfect for what I needed. I’m so happy with my purchase.

Die Trommel hat einen wunderbaren, tiefen, erdenden Ton und macht einen großartigen Sound, der witterungsunabhängig konstant bleibt. Sie liegt haptisch optimal in der Hand und die Vibrationen des Sounds sind deutlich spürbar. Auch mit der Hand bzw den Fingerspitzen kommt der tiefe Ton schön zum Tragen und ich kann sie jedem empfehlen, der einen vollen, tiefen, "Heartbeat" möchte.

Heel tevreden met mijn Remo Drum. Super geluid, geweldige resonantie, diepe klanken.En het fijne is, hij is altijd bespeelbaar 😊🤍 Geen gedoe meer met water sprayen als hij te strak is of te verwarmen als hij te vochtig is.

So I purchased my first Buffalo drum a few days ago, and it was also a 16" Remo Buffalo drum, but the standard white one. This Black Earth drum I have to say is way deeper in tone, very bassey and booms like nothing else. I really liked my first drum, the standard one, but after playing this, I can't go back. This will be the only drum I will be playing going forward. It's voice has the exact tone I was looking for when imagining playing a Shamanic styled frame drum. The craftsmanship, solid construction, and fit and finish are outstanding for this price point and I highly, highly recommend this drum if you are at all interested in frame drums, or meditative Shamanic style drumming. I am very happy with my purchase.

I practice shamanic drumming for ceremony and just every day to feel good. For anyone that likes to drum, I know it's unusual to use a synthetic skin, but my oh my, the sound that comes from this drum is incredible. It is resilient, and even with a bit of drizzle in the air I was not worried about it getting loose or the frame getting warped. It's just a whole different experience than using animal skin drums, and if you are vegan, this would be a great alternative. I have played this drum in every type of weather and each time it rewards me with different overtones, my other drums will soon get lonely. Price point also is very good considering the size of the drum, nice deep tones. Comes well packaged, but the shipping process was fraught with difficulties in customs, while I impatiently waited for it's arrival, it was busy for a week sitting in customs. Sign of the times. Just happy to have it and highly recommend.
