This is a good deal, but all the sand comes off when you have too clean the poop off. You can flip it over and use the other side though. These don't last long because my parakeets chew them up. It's a very soft wood like poplar or pine.

Don’t bother. Unlike most other sanded, flat perches, these are one-sided. The other side is raw wood. They didn’t even bother to include enough hardware to mount half of what I ordered.

Some of them came kind of broken so they were very flimsy, I couldn’t even use one of the rods because it was way too flimsy.

You can wash these perches over and over again and they don't fall apart. Very durable.

Not many places offer supplies for rat cages, so I do my best. These perches and shelves are great. The rats need the roughness to help keep their claws trimmed, and sometimes they will chew these to help grind their teeth (which never stop growing).I would recommend them for critters that aren't just aviary.
