So far, so good! We just replaced our refrigerator and taking notes from various repairmen, they recommended that a power protector would be a good idea since these new refrigerators have so much electronics and controllers. This sounds like great advice for protecting a machine that costs thousands of dollars.Two weeks after setting up everything, we started having a bunch of power hits probably because they are installing a lot of underground fiber optic cables in the area. This is working as advertised. It waits for brownouts and outages a certain time to stabilize before restoring power to the refrigerator. After 4 power outages and several brownouts in a month, everything is still working great! A great insurance policy to protect your high value appliances.

It has been tested by a power failure only once, but it did the job as expected. Remember to wait several minutes after power is restored to turn on appliances. I am happy. Thank you.

What this does is wait three minutes before turning on its outlet after power is applied. This gives some time for the refrigerator or freezer pressures to equalize after a power interruption occurs. This is helpful for those brief power dropouts that can occur when the utility's equipment performs switching operations or the utility's re-closers operate during a storm situation.I have three of these and they have operated well for over six months now. It would be nice if these had a setting for 3, 6, and perhaps 9 minutes. And what would be even nicer would be to allow different delay settings for each outlet.For the older freezer three minutes is not enough time for the pressures to equalize, so I plugged its Ortis refrigerator surge protector into the second outlet of the Ortis refrigerator surge protector for the refrigerator. This allows six minutes of wait time for the freezer pressures to equalize before power is applied. The third one is used for the dehumidifier.Now some of the newer higher end appliances have built-in timers that perform the same type of function that this does. If you have one of these you may not need one of these, that is, unless you get voltage sags and overages at your location. This device is supposed to also protect against this. The utility at my location doesn't typically present this type of situation, so I can not speak to this aspect of the Ortis refrigerator surge protector's features.For what it's worth I have a power fail alarm plugged into the second outlet of Ortis refrigerator surge protector for the freezer. This way if either of these two surge protectors were to fail the alarm would go off. So far that hasn't happened.

I asked questions before buying this product. The use was more than a kitchen appliance such as a fridge. My actual use was powering our whole-home reverse osmosis system. Many responded to my questions saying that it wouldn't perform, buy something more robust, have an electrician wire something more permanent... etc., all costlier solutions.My whole-house RO system is high-end but it plugs in to a standard 15 amp circuit. It processes my softened well water and puts the RO water in to the 500 gallon tanks that will be used for the house. My problem was that if the circuit tripped we would not know about it in the house until we ran out of water. Then we would have to reset whatever the problem was and then wait further to allow the system to generate a supply of RO water for house-hold use (or, bypass the RO system all together and just use the softened water until such a time to allow the RO system to recover). Either way, I didn't like getting up in the morning just to find no water was available. We also had wired a warning lamp that shown on to the house whenever the RO water level in the tank dropped below a certain point.The solution was to have a device that would detect a power surge or brownout, cut the power to save the system, and then power back on when the power was safe. This device does just that. If it detects a surge, it will trip before damage can be done to your appliance, then wait a couple minutes, and then power back on while detecting that the power is ok.I plugged both the RO system as well as the warning lights in to the surge protector. After waiting 2 minutes, it powered on as expected. I've been using it now for a couple months and it's performing perfectly. I also bought a second one for a separate part of the RO system, a solenoid, for the same protection. I couldn't be happier so far.

excelente producto, en mi domicilio siempre hay variaciones de luz o cortes, pero lo mas seguido es bajo voltaje y ha protegido mi refrigerador desde la primera vez, lo apaga por completo hasta que se restablece la luz. Desde que lo conecte, el motor del refrigerador se noto ma tranquilo para trabajar y mas silencioso, y corta mas rapido, ayuda tambien para que el refrigerador trabaje mas tranquilo.
