I think these are just stainless steel capsules with nothing inside. Can't open them to see. And the cheap carbon packets don't stick at all when you peel off the backs of the tape.

These air deodorizers are a great eco-friendly way to keep your refrigerator, car, or other small spaces smelling fresh. They are made of stainless steel, no plastic, which is always awesome. They will last for 10 years! Every few months to dry them out you should put them out in the sun. This pack came with 2 stainless steel deodorizers, and some carbon filters to put on the air vent of your fridge.

I do not understand exactly how this works scientifically, but the layman’s explanation would be this: Certain foods give off an odor in the form of a gas. This compact deodorizer converts the gas to a vapor and contains the odor. The set came with two deodorizers and four charcoal packets for the air inlet. The stainless steel deodorizer can be recharged in the sun every six months or as needed. I had this on the shelf with a head of broccoli and there was absolutely no odor in my fridge all week. Recommended!
