I was surprised when I got this, at just how thick the material is. I got this to wrap up a grow area where I grow salad greens, some herbs, and a random African violet. This is the perfect width to cover a 4' wide shelf on the back, and split down the middle will cover the sides, as this is 4' wide. Being as long as it is, it will last forever, or has enough length to cover a ton of grow shelves. Definitely more than I need, but I'd rather have more than enough, than not enough. Great material!

Used part of the product. Was all as described. Just didn't unroll the whole thing. So not sure about the claims of it not being long enough or that the ending was transparent. Just happy with the first 15 feet.

I have three small purchased hydroponic systems that get a bit rangy from time to time and I wanted to try adding a "mirror" to the back and sides to reflect back more of the light onto the plants and hopefully keep them smaller, sturdier, so to speak. Also, I have three home made tubs for larger veggies - tomatoes, cucumbers and mini-melons and wanted to do the same with them. They are taller and while I have a grow light above them, I added some strip lights to the front (on the PVC stand holding the grow light on a chain), but instead of adding more grow lights to the back, I did the same with this Mylar - sprayed adhesive to some large cardboard pieces to affix the shiny material and then set the cardboard up behind the tubs to reflect the light back onto the plants. I'm going to try another project which I haven't gotten to yet - using cardboard pieces again, that I have already bent and notched, I will again spray adhesive onto the cardboard so the Mylar sticks and then use an Exacto knife to cut the Mylar like the cardboard - making a solar oven! Mylar is so shiny it should work great for a home made solar oven. I'm very pleased with this roll of Mylar - I have enough for several projects!

I was shocked at the size and quality of this roll. What a bargain!!! I think anything less than $50 is a total steal! I'm 5'6" and this goes up to my chest and is really heavy. But I only needed a tiny amount because I'm just transforming this existing small shelving unit into a spot to start seedlings for a spring garden, and also to nurse back to health any of my houseplants that I may neglect that need saving. All the windows in my home are already filled with houseplants, even the north side that doesn't get enough light. So I thought this mylar would be great to use in combination with some lights in my bathroom (it doesn't even have a window)- and could give dying houseplants or seedlings the light they need to thrive. And it works great for that. But there's so much of it!! And it's such great quality. It's thick and doesn't rip. Both sides are reflective and it is going to make the most beautiful wrapping paper. It's neutral too so I'll be using it for birthdays and Christmas and will only have to buy bows and ribbon! I looked on Amazon for mylar wrapping paper and saw a 2 ft. roll for $16 and $22! This is probably way better quality than and you get so much more for so incredibly much less. What a score right before the holidays. And it would make funny funhouse mirrors too- just in time for Halloween. I 11/10 recommend this giant roll that's durable, beautiful, and such fantastic quality.I came back to add to the original review that my son had a birthday today and I quickly and easily wrapped a handful of presents in minutes. The scissors just glide amazingly across the mylar!! No snags, so smooth! And I was in such a hurry, but the finished product looked great!! Highly recommend using leftovers or strictly purchasing for wrapping purposes. I should be set for Christmas.

The perfect thing for my greenhouse in my basement. One roll did all of the walls, door, and ceiling. Helps hold in heat as well!
