I use my laptop more as a desktop, I have it plugged into 2 monitors. I was afraid my cat would knock my laptop off my desk so I got this & angled the laptop nearly vertical so my cat doesn't try to climb on it. Plus, it gives me more room on my desk & and helps keep the laptop cooler due to the vent holes in the mount. You can adjust the bolts to make it as movable as you want or just tighten everything down to make it immovable. One detail I really like is the piece at the bottom of the vertical bar that you can keep all the Allen wrenches it came with for easy adjustments.

I put together my whole setup, including mounting a monitor on this stand and attaching to my desk, in under 45 minutes. There is a small amount of putting the item together, but it is quite intuitive and easy to do. I also love that the laptop stand has holes on the bottom so that air can flow better and reduce my laptop's temperature.

I purchased strictly to use as a moving lap top holder and used half the second arm as an extension, and the the other half with the end that would attach to a monitor as a support for the extra length, and weight of a large laptop and big hands , I'm 6'6" and have had back issues for years so I work from home and create - and recreate my workstation to fit and fit comfortably based on having to replace comfortable chairs, as office desks do not fit folks over 6'4' nor do the chairs - and even the stand up desks were always too short, and jobs these days the need to write anything comes less and less so I have very little need for a place to write or lay a full sheet of paper on, so I literally either work in an over sized high arm living room type chair or a recliner with a long coffee table between them that drilled a hole in and installed this contraption on so my workstation can swing to either chair. and it works pretty slick - If I were to be picky I would say the joints could be built a bit stronger but I'm not using it properly - and for the price it's legit. .... Also I think if they sold individual parts out of the kit it would also benefit them, I'll probably be ordering another one for replacement parts to have available when the hinge pieces get too bent and loose from being used improperly. I'm happy with it .. comfy work means productive work!

So far is really strong and solid, the arms hold well and has large range of movement. But the laptop stand is wobbly even with all screws well tightened. The laptop probably won't fall but it is always a little bit bent to a side.

This is not a bad computer and laptop stand to used. The simple setup to the durability of this stand is well deserves. Since all the parts are made out of metal, it can withstand the weight of a 37' monitor and a 27' laptop. The bad thing about this is just the fact that tightening the bolt and screw take some effort. Also, the part that bend the back and forth needs some redoing as it is still difficult to fix the position of the monitors and laptop.

It's definitely my fault for having that excitement go through the roof when this arm arrived. While I could understand most of the manual, I skipped the part where there's a pair of squared metallic parts that hold the two arms to the middle tube. I twisted those screws with all my strength, bending the pieces in the process until I noticed those two pairs of plastic pieces that go inside those metallic pieces. While I check the manual again, there's this part where they show how they go, but it's so tiny that I missed it entirely, and went my own way, even asking myself why do I need to screw these parts that tightly? It didn't feel right until well... I noticed. But after all of that, man... My desk improved a ton. I couldn't be happier. Sure, I don't have the up and down adjustment I could get on more expensive stands (though, manually, you can move the arms on the tube by using the screws to loosen and move the arms). But the fact that now I can put my monitor on vertical, tilt my laptop screen, and use my desk like if it were a standing desk is just perfection. Cable management is relatively easy, and the pack includes a ton of screws, the Allen keys, and two ways to install it (clamp or a screw under the desk if yours have a hole). So yeah, read the manual. You should also make sure to point the screws away from the monitors since if those metallic parts I bent have their screws on the front as I show in one of the pics, you could easily scratch or even damage the monitor you put on the arms (because yes, if you don't want to use a laptop and instead put a 2nd monitor, that whole laptop stand is supported by a VESA mount. But again, be careful with those screws in any case. Also, if only these manufacturers allow you to buy just the arm and not the entire thing to add, I don't know, a third arm in the future...).The thing is really tough though, and you can adjust how much you allow the parts to move by tightening every screw you need so, the possibility of a laptop or a monitor on the arm moving on their own is only if you allow it (the best part vs. the gas ones, even with all their benefits). As an entry-level stand for anyone doing home office, I recommend it. For me, it's worth it.
