A pressure tank is an essential part of a pressurized water system that provides water pressure. The tank stores water between the diaphragm and the liner. The pressure tank reduces the number of times the pump needs to start significantly increasing the lifespan of your well pump. The tension of the diaphragm maintains the water pressure within the system ensuring proper operation of all water appliances such as a dishwasher and washing machine and provides a robust flow of water for showering. No maintenance is needed. A properly set-up pump and tank will work as a team to deliver water pressure to your home and provide many years of dependable service.
The Red Lion RL34A tank is a 34-gallon vertical tank with a drawdown of 10.8 gallons at 30/50 PSI. It is designed to handle up to 11 water fixtures simultaneously. The RL34A is equipped with a 1-inch FNPT threaded elbow system connection. The RL34A is made of heavy-duty 20-gauge cold rolled carbon steel with a 304 stainless steel connector. It has a triple grade almond paint finish. The liner material is FDA grade polypropylene. The unit is rated at a maximum working temperature of 194 degrees F and a maximum working pressure of 150 PSI. It can be installed in a series or in parallel for increased system capacity.
Initial set-up: The tank is pre-charged to 20 PSI in order to transport this pump safely and must be filled with air to 2 PSI below the cut-in setting of the pressure switch. For example, a 30/50 system needs 28 PSI of air in the tank. A 40/60 system needs 38 PSI. To fill the pump with air, use a standard bicycle pump and monitor the pressure using a pressure gauge (not included).
This system is NSF/ANSI/CAN 61/CAN 372 tested and certified by WQA.

If you ever will and you don't have a pre-charged pressure tank of this caliber then you don't know what you're missing.I thought that I just wouldn't have great pressure living off the grid and I was mistaken. Red Lion has given me hotel pressure in my off the grid abodes and I love it.Install will be different depending on your setup and may require you hiring a professional to get it done properly and possibly updating some other equipment. For the increased pressure I would say it's worth it nothing like a good shower after a long day of work with water that hits your skin like you owe it something lol.Until We Meet Again-Off The Grid Ken

It seemed that most negative reviews were a result of ship damage. No particular brand escaped the problem. I was relieved when mine arrived in mint condition. I hope I get a reasonable life-span from this brand. After purchasing this, I found that similar size tanks of other brands can be found at a couple of the big lumber chains for about $100.00 less This tank looks quality--- I hope so.

I installed the Red Lion RL34A after my old tank started to leak from a crack. Here are my thoughts:Build Quality: The tank feels sturdy with its thermoplastic base, which seems durable against the elements. The almond color blends well in utility spaces.Performance: It does a great job maintaining consistent pressure. The pre-charged feature made the setup easier since I didn't have to fiddle with air pressure settings too much.Capacity: 34 gallons is a good size for a household with moderate water use. It reduces the cycling of the pump, which should extend the pump's life.Installation: The 1-inch FNPT connection was standard and fit well, but you might need some plumbing knowledge or help for a smooth installation. The instructions were clear, though.One minor point - make sure you have enough height in your designated for it; it's quite tall. Overall, it's a reliable tank that does what it's supposed to do with minimal fuss. Recommended for those needing a solid, hassle-free pressure tank.
