I'm an old man. Sort of getting into boomerangs for some reason. This is one is soft but stiff foam. Takes punishment well but unlikely to cause serious injury. My toddler age kids can have fun throwing it (won't return for them). Very easy to throw almost non-existent learning curve. Got it to return on very first throw. But if you have a small back yard like mine with trees, may be better to go to a local park unless you're really good. I would say it makes about a 30 foot circle.

These boomerangs are extremely lightweight and are therefore easily effected by the breeze. They do not return to you but still are fun to throw and chase.

I gave this sample boomerang to my 10 year old to play around in the backyard… and I do have a decent sized yard, but before I had even a chance to take any photo, a gush of wind carried the boomerang over the fence into my neighbor’s yard. And it is still in our neighbor's yard as I am writing this review a few day later.Prior to the wind accident, however, the boomerang performed marginally well. Perhaps it was the user error, but the boomerang did not quite return as I expected, but I could see that it was trying. Plus every time wind blew, the boomerang struggled to keep its course due to its light weight. I think it is a fun toy to have it around in the house since the boomerang is made from molded foam and is fairly light, so no significant damage can be done to your crystal chandeliers, but in terms of functioning as a boomerang (especially outside), that may depend on the user (I think) and the wind conditions.I was not super impressed where it warrants a 5-star rating, but I can see this boomerang being a fun toy to throw around the house for a relatively young children (5-7 yrs?).

I got this for my son and daughter. It was not easy to get it to work because the way you intuitively throw it is not the way it's supposed to be done. There is a video on their website that shows you how to do it and once we were able to master it, this boomerang performed very well!My 7 year old daughter can get it to come back most of the time but my husband is able to do it consistently, almost to the point where it comes back to the exact same spot where he threw it.We've been having fun with this and I would definitely recommend it.
