Had to mix it a bit before use but I found it worked perfectly for my needs and no leaks at 435 PSI (3000 KPaG) for a 10-minute hold.

Tried a 3/4" brass connection without this and there was a slow leak. Then used the tape + goop and it hasn't leaked since.

I can't provide concrete evidence, but I have a sense that this product might be more effective than using PTFE, thats also suitable for potable water. When applied on vertical black iron pipe, it tends to drip or run down before setting. Unfortunately, I accidentally got some on my brand new sweatpants, and it's impossible to remove from the fabric. i ahven't found this brand readily available in the well-known stores

I don't know what I am doing wrong with teflon tape, but half my connections always leak no matter how much teflon tape I apply or how tight I tighten it. This stuff feels like magic, all connections are sealed, no leaks! (so far) So don't waste your time with teflon tape and just get this stuff, it's great!

I have used this product for 30 years or so and the new stuff works just like the old stuff and works as well.

This pipe sealer does a good job and has been around for a long time. It was available at Lowes by me at one time for less. I now opt for a sealer that has Teflon in it for my pipe sealing needs.
