Timely shipped. Very well crafted hard cardboard crate. With professional install and custom wiring, it took about 4 hours. Initial cycle of 70° and 68° the unit operated flawlessly. Now we hope the 2 year warranty is never needed. So far we like it better than our Coleman. Quieter and a remote! This 13.5 installed in 18' rv. More than enough.

Got this unit delivered faster than the estimated date which helped greatly!Our old AC kicked the bucket in our 5th wheel, so we ordered this and we love it!There was a small crack in the shroud, we contacted the customer service and they were amazing!We don’t expect a refund just replace if offered. They gave the choose of a refund ( specific amount, not the whole unit price ) or a new shroud. Since it was a small enough crack we just took the small refund offered and couldn’t have been happier with our purchase.We’re going to replace the main ducted unit here in acouple weeks as well and we’ll definitely purchase from this manufacturer!Side note: I installed this myself, used a ladder and cranked it up and installed myself ( I’m an rv service tech )But took about 2 hours start to finish and testing.

I had the near identical predecessor to this called an Atwood AirCommand. That one suffered an early death so I wanted a new one, but they were replaced by the RecPro. This one is nearly the same but has some refinements that made it better. I wanted a A/c that could run on a 2200 watt generator, but I added a Softstart as well. This unit cools very well in 99 degree hot summer days in SoCal in direct sun. Cools my 1976 23' GMC motorhome quite well. I am not sure how it would do in a humid location that gets equally hot, though I am sure a 15k would be better. This 13k handles a 1800/2200 peak generator just fine, with the softstart, but I am told it will work without too? Its quiet and i dont hear the compressor at all. Just the fan! I like that it has a thermostat so its not running constantly and will keep a temperature. It is easy to install with just four bolts to clamp to the roof and the inside bracket. The plenum comes with it, unlike the Atwood which was sold separate.

We purchased this RecPro by Houghton based on a you tube recommendation because our factory installed Furrion unit was so loud that we couldn’t sleep.(One full on fan speed when using the cool setting.)I could not be more pleased with the RecPro unit. Not only does it have multiple A/C fan speeds but it’s also remotely controlled so no getting up out of bed to make comfort changes.The installation was as simple as they get so ignore the reviews that complain about the instructions. (Full disclosure, I am a trained mechanic and a semi retired Home Repair Business owner, but someone with average man skills shouldn’t find installing this too challenging.) The manual is written very well and easy to understand. I had the old unit out and the RecPro installed and running in less than 2 hours. The unit operates perfectly, Cools our small RV every bit as well as the Furrion unit did, and is a full 20 decibels quieter than the factory unit. Customer service was very polite and quick to resolve our only issue which resulted from FedEx playing Rugby with the package. The unit was packed extremely well with at least 3” of packing between the inner and outer box and no visible damage to the outer carton. Somehow FedEx managed to crack the lower shroud in 2 places. RecPro customer service took care of us once I sent them pictures of the damage and have been great communicators throughout. ( Thanks to Jane and Natalie @ Rec Pro)If a quieter comfort system is what you need, I highly recommend this unit.

I purchased this AC unit for a front AC add on my Passport GT. It was pre-wired for a second AC so that part of the install was pretty seamless. The one thing was misleading was the instruction to use sealant. As I learned AFTER the install is that the roof membrane does in fact react with DICOR lap sealant. trapping that sealant under the gasket caused the roof membrane to bubble horribly. I ended up pulling the unit back up and removing all that sealant. If there is a need to cover the holes from an old roof hatch, I would (should have) used Eternabond tape. I would also recommend purchasing a torque wrench as is it really easy to overtighten the mounting bolts. Overall, it is ice cold and exactly what we needed to stay comfortable on hot nights. The profile is about 1 inch lower than the original GE unit that is in the middle of our rig. I love the remote and the holder that comes with this unit. The directional vents are exactly what is needed to give us as much or as little air as we want. The rig has a barreled ceiling and the gasket and unit conformed perfectly without an issue. We have had it on our rig for a few months now and so far have had no issues, no leaks, no movement. I did test it out on a 20 amp household circuit and it started and ran without issue. I wouldn't do this often, but for testing, it worked great, no tripping. Overall, I would purchase this again.

Long story short I purchased a unit in June of 2023. Installation went smoothly and it works. Havent been able to put it to a real test because I'm in the middle of a rv build bit has turned it on a few times and it works perfectly. Fast forward to May 2024. Ordered another unit and installed it and it's not working properly and they are making me pay to return it. It's not my fault it didn't work out of the box so now I have to pay $300-$400 to return it? How is that fair to the customer? I've spent over $3k with them over the last year because I also ordered an awning but now I'm taking my business elsewhere because of their horrible customer service.

There was a mistake in shipping one of the control panels for the 2 ACs we ordered. RecPro worked quickly and was kind and generous to get us the missing panel.
