A nice, simple appearance and heavy duty cable size gives this one good form and good function. It's a decently chunky and durable distribution block with a set of included gauge sleeve adapters, and a bold nickel finish.

Recoil just seems to make great stuff at a great price. This is no exception, it is a very nice distribution block. The fittings work well and there aren't any unsightly machining marks. My only grips is that the cover doesn't click into place. Other than that, it's perfect and did just what I needed it to.

This block is very well-made, and the materials all appear to be top-quality. The machining is excellent (aside from the set-screw heads), and the main body of the block looks and feels like a solid chunk of steel. The block comes nicely boxed, with a thick piece of foam to protect it, and includes adapter sleeves to allow for various wire sizes. It does not come with any instructions, mounting hardware, or the 4mm / 5/32" hex key (aka Allen wrench) that is needed; but anybody using an item like this most likely doesn't need any of these extras. The device arrives closed. To open the outer plastic shell, gently pinch the sides together at the widest part. This will release the two plastic clips that lock the two halves of the shell together, and allow you to lift off the front cover. (photo of partially open shell shows clip on side, near bottom)Once it's open, you will see two mounting holes -- one in each of the top corners of the back plastic. The other two holes (rectangular) are for the clips from the front cover -- so don't use them for mounting the block. (See photo)The three set screws that hold the wires in place require a 4mm hex key (Allen wrench). A 5/32" one will work equally well. The hex-drive holes in these screws are a tiny bit loose, so be careful not to over-tighten them (This is the only real flaw I have found with the machining / manufacturing of this item). They are not loose enough to be a problem -- as long as they are not over-tightened; but if you want to replace them, they are m8-1.0 x 11.5mm stainless steel headless set-screws. You're not likely to find 11.5mm, so find something that works with the wire size you intend to use (shorter screws for thicker wires).Once the set-screws are loosened far enough, the adapter sleeves and some vinyl sleeves will come out. Use -- or don't use -- the metal adapter sleeves, to allow for the best fit with the wire you're using. Do not put the clear plastic sleeves on the wire ends -- they will act as insulation, and mess up the whole thing. The only reason that I can think of for their inclusion, is to prevent the set screws from scratching the adapter sleeves during shipping.Final tip: I highly recommend using some dielectric silicone grease (NOT silicone sealant) in the wire sockets and on all bare wire, to prevent oxidation and keep everything looking nice longer. (Put some on your battery terminals while you're at it.)

These things are great! I've used them for car audio before and they've never let me down. Sturdy construction and easy to work with. I used this to split an 8 gauge power cable in my car. You will need an Allen wrench to loosen/tighten the connection, the package doesn't include one. You can't really get much better, and could certainly do worse.

Would rate it higher if the top wouldn’t fall off so easily. I just used a zip tie to prevent it from falling and making contact with other components or ground

This is a very well made power distribution block. The casing is made of a tough plastic, and the block itself is all metal. The frosted cover looks really nice as well. The terminals are simple to use, with inputs for 0ga wire and set screws to clamp the wire into place. The fitment seems true for the wires I am using. No issues with the performance as it's a solid distribution block. Overall a good value!
