I could tell right away it wasn't going to work but I tested it anyways and barely made it to half volume on a 330 watt RMS amp and low profile sub before the cone slapped the back of the grate. I don't understand how this could have possibly worked for anyone and I'm baffled as to why they chose to make it concave as opposed to flat or convex. I'm just glad I turned the volume up very slowly and didn't damage my speaker.

So I needed these for a sub box on the passenger side floor of my Silverado, this damn Steel is sturdy enough and has slight give under moderate pressure and does what I needed allowing me to still do truck things with my truck. The trouble is these are not high excursion. With a Planet Audio 10 inch subwoofer running 510 Watts certified RMS the Excursion was enough at just below half volume to hit the inside of the steel making a horrific noise. The way I got around it was putting a 1-in spacer underneath to raise the metal cover 1 in and it'll work for now because I'm getting an under seat box for the rear of the cab which will make this redundant. Just know that this is definitely the best for the money but it's not as high Excursion as you would like to think. With a little modification Anything is Possible

Looks great, fits perfectly over my 8 inch skar audio sub and onto the box as well. Definitely recommend and would buy again if needed. Never really ran guards before but in this economy gotta protect your stuff. Getting expensive lol. But not this product, super affordable and works well
