We bought this for our son. He says it works great but the clip on top to hold the diamond art on the light board broke. One of the sides snapped off. It is still usable but he just adds a piece of tape to help hold it in place tighter.

After testing this light box extensively for two weeks, I can confidently say it's a reliable tool for my art projects. The built-in 2500mAh battery lasts about 4-5 hours on medium brightness, and charging is quick at roughly 2 hours using the included USB-C cable. The magnetic edges are a standout feature, effectively holding paper in place while tracing, though they could be stronger for thicker papers. I appreciate the three brightness levels, which work well even through watercolor paper, and the illumination remains even across the entire surface without any dark spots or flickering. The slim design makes it portable, and the controls are straightforward to use. While I wish it came with a wall adapter, any USB-C charger works fine. I've used it for various projects from basic sketching to watercolor transfers, and the A4 size has been perfect for most of my needs. For artists and crafters looking for a cordless tracing solution, this light box offers good value and reliable performance.

I got this because my family is creative, and several of us draw. I figured having some back lighting would really help, and it definitely has! While I'm sure that some people will use it exclusively for tracing, we use it in lots of different ways. Not only for back lighting, but also for illuminating what we're doing in general.I love the size of this- it's on the larger size and there's plenty of room. It's such a pain to have to cramp what you're doing onto something that is simply too small. It's super easy to use and I'm really glad it's rechargeable and doesn't have to be plugged in during use. This allows us to work wherever suits us and that's always a plus. There's a stand that helps a lot during many different situations, and the three color light is super useful. There are scenarios where we may want to check how something looks under different lighting, or check to be sure it looks good under all lighting. It also dims, which is really nice- while I often want lighting to be as bright as possible, there are definitely situations where the dimmer comes in handy.Overall this is just a super useful tool- especially for drawing, but also for many other purposes. Highly recommend!

This unit works well to backlight images and allow you to trace photos or printed images.I recently worked with one of the AI bots to create a line drawing with a dachshund and some flowers. I wanted to take the outline and then paint the image. I printed out the image in black and white and then used this light box to trace the image in pencil so I could transfer it to a canvas (with the classic rubbing process). This box worked great and does have several levels of illumination. It comes with strong magnets that hold your image tightly in place. It also has a high-quality pencil and eraser. I tried them and they were perfect for what I was doing. My only issue is that the measurements on the unit are in metric. I'm fine with metric normally, but in the US all our frames and art materials are typically sold in Imperial measures. I can figure it out, but both on the frame would be nice!

This is a great light box/pad for drawing, tracing, or any project that you need to be backlit. I was looking for something that was rechargeable (does not need to be plugged in while using), fit in my bag with my computer, and didn't add any significant weight to my load. The A4 size light box is what you need for standard size sheets of paper. You won't be able to fit the entire page on the illuminated portion of the board if it is larger than 8.5x12". The surface area is actually 9.75x13.4" but there is a black border around the edge. The top is flat, the black border is flat on the drawing surface and the very edge of the board is almost completely flat, so you can easily use this with a larger piece of paper that you slide around on the surface without worrying about wrinkling it.There is a slight slope to the surface if set on a flat surface, but it is just enough to add a little comfort to the writing or drawing process. If you sit it in your lap the angle will be fairly insignificant. The bottom has no little rubber feet. This is a plus for me as I slide my paper around in circles while I draw and write. If you want something more stable it would be easy to stick little rubber feet on the bottom. There are five levels of brightness. The brightness is changed by repeatedly pressing the power button, the change is gradual with none being super dim nor exceedingly bright. You have to press the button 6 times to turn it on and get to "off" again. It's an easy button to press, it protrudes from the side just enough to find it with touch and it makes a quiet little click when pressed. The package included four little pawn shaped magnets, a pencil, pencil sharpener, an eraser, a charging cord (no power brick), and some images to trace if the recipient needs some inspiration. The magnetic area of the surface is limited to the four corners. Approximately 1 inch in from each side is an area to which a magnet will stick. The included magnets are strong enough to prevent the paper from blowing off if there is a breeze, but not really strong enough to keep you from accidentally moving it while drawing. I added some of those super strong flat metal magnets to mine and they held much better. Their profile is lower and they have a stronger grip, so they did a better job of keeping the paper in place while working. I will probably just opt for using pieces of washi tape to keep my project in place because it prevents accidental movement but won't leave adhesive behind. There are probably better light boxes around, but this one is more than adequate for my needs and the price is comfortable for what you get. The packaging is easily giftable, so this would be a great Christmas gift idea for a tween, teen or any adult with an arts and crafts hobby of some sort. I can't think of anything that would make me more satisfied with it than I am right now, so 5 stars it is!
