Hydraulic Brake System

Ensure optimal braking performance, even in demanding off-road conditions. Comes with an additional set of brake pads for replacement.

Easy Installation

  • No welding required. The kit includes a custom-designed bracket for secure attachment, a new axle, chain tensioners, and spacers to center the wheel in the frame.
  • The kit is compatible with both standard mini bikes and those equipped with a rear cargo rack.

Advantages of Hydraulic Disc Brakes Over Drum Brakes

Superior Stopping Power

  • Hydraulic disc brakes offer significantly better braking force compared to drum brakes.
  • This is due to the increased surface area of the disc and the efficiency of hydraulic fluid in applying pressure evenly across the brake pads, allowing for more controlled and responsive braking.

Consistent Performance

  • Hydraulic disc brakes dissipate heat more effectively, reducing the risk of brake fade and ensuring consistent stopping power.
  • Drum brakes, on the other hand, tend to fade as they heat up during long braking periods or steep descents, leading to reduced braking power.

Ease of Repair

  • Disc brake systems are generally easier to repair and replace components such as pads, rotors, or calipers.
  • Drum brake systems require more complex servicing, especially when it comes to accessing and replacing the internal components.

More Advantages

  • Better Heat Dissipation
  • Lightweight
  • Smoother controlled stops

installation steps

1

Step 1 Pre preparation

  1. Remove Old Components: Detach the old wheel, brake system, and any related parts from your mini bike.
  2. Mounting your tire onto the hub: Make sure to follow the directional tread pattern when mounting your tire onto the hub for optimal performance and handling.
  3. Install the sprocket

!!!Caution!!!: Do not press the brake handle after removing the plastic piece before fully installing the brake system, as this could cause the brake pads to become dislodged, leading to complications during installation.

2

Step 2 Install the New Wheel Hub

  • Install the mounting plate, chain tensioner, spacer, and washer in the order shown in the diagram.
  • If your mini bike has a rear cargo rack, use the original axle.
  • Ensure that the wheel is centered by using the included spacers.
  • Tip: You may need to tilt the axle during installation to Install the spacers properly.

1

Step 3 Mount the Hydraulic Brake Caliper

  • Secure the hydraulic brake caliper to the mounting plate using the provided M8 Bolts ( Use Black spacer), ensuring proper alignment.
  • !!!Caution again!!!: Do not press the brake handle after removing the plastic piece before fully installing the brake system, as this could cause the brake pads to become dislodged, leading to complications during installation.

1

Step 4 Attach the Brake Lever & Test

  1. Attach the brake lever to the handlebar
  2. Adjust and secure: Ensure that all components are tightened and aligned correctly. Check that the wheel spins freely without interference from the brake disc.
  3. Test the brakes: After installation, test the brakes thoroughly to ensure proper function before riding.
1

!!! Attention !!!

  • Fits 19-inch and below wheel tires with stock settings. A 20-inch or larger wheel may cause chain rubbing issues.
  • Recommendation for larger wheels: Install the sprocket with extra washers to properly space the chain and wheel.

Everything is good for the break part but the other side of the wheel that the sprocket connects to doesn’t stick out enough so I can’t run my chain on it, it rubs my tire so now I’m going to have to fabricate/ figure something out because it’s not bolt on as it seems to advertise, for 200 dollars it would be nice for it to go on without having to go out find new spacers and washers and figure out how I am going to make this work

The rim setup is nice, but thats about it. The bracket is cut oversized (as seen in pic) the slag from the cut wasnt even sanded off before powder coating. The brake set up is a single piston brake that sells on amazon for $30 the disc is about $12 the brake lever bracket broke durring installation. (I had another) I will be upgrading to a dual piston.I wont be buying this again setup. To me, all I want is the and bracket, the rest is not worth it. A standard rim sells for $70, to me the disc set up and bracket are worth $110-140

Not the greatest but a good upgrade. Should be a bit cheaper though. Chain barely misses the tire. I used 1 included wheel bushing for the disc side and a factory (longer) spacer plus a washer on the other side to help get everything to work. There were no instructions (I could provide an install video for a free kit). The brake line is a bit too long or a bit too short depending on how you look at it. Couldn't find a great way to rout it but got it situated to where it doesn't bind up. All in all not the best direct upgrade kit but if you have half a brain and aren't afraid to figure something out on your own, then if say get it. I installed it on an axis/coleman ct200 frame.
