I purchased both sizes of this protector for my tall, lanky 13 year old son (5'7" and 120 lbs) who had moved into the second phase of martial arts training. The protector is well made and definitely protects the ribs but the S/M medium was too short in the front from the neck to bottom (15.5") and the L/XL (19" neck to bottom) was too wide for him to snug up around the ribs. Unless this item "breaks in" it might be too stiff and thick to wear if you expect to roll around while sparing. However, I would recommend it for boxing if you are shorter and thicker than my teenager.

Great protection but I order my size and it was a bit larger - I didn’t have time to return and suggest if you order go a size lower for snug tight fit. Great material and protection

This body shield is a must have. I use it for athletes who have great punching power and also for those who don’t. It’s easy to put on and it’s very easy to adjust. This is the only one that I have in my training arsenal. This equipment won’t protect you from low blows.
