This water bowl did not disappoint! I love the fact that our puppy is unable to spill their water. I highly recommend the Buddy Bowl and would purchase it all over again.

I am so impressed because this bowl totally exceeded my expectations! First off, I live in my van with my two 90+lb pit bulls. I could not find a way to provide a water bowl they did not instantly spill. Since their only area in the van is my bed that was a huge problem. So I had to stop and give them water frequently. I was familiar with the Buddy Bowl from working in the pet industry but had never actually used one myself. I am so glad I chose to give the Buddy Bowl a shot because it works. It really, truly works. It holds plenty of water for my boys. It is as easy to fill as any open bowl. My dogs used it instantly. I filled it and flipped it upside down and over and over. Only a few small drops came out. So, I tossed it on my bed and drove off. As I drove one of my dogs was drinking. When I stopped and got out there was zero water anywhere. I drove over terrible torn up roads, speed bumps, deep dips in the road and sharp turns. Nothing spilled, not a single drop. Nor was there any drooly, dribbles anywhere from either dog. Both had used it at this point. Then later, one of them flipped it over and it was upside down for 25 mins before I stopped again. I picked it up expecting to find at least some spillage. Again nothing. Couple small drops, but I am so ok with that! Seriously, if you travel in an RV, car or are a vanlifer or have a bowl flipping dog BUY THIS BOWL. I bought the 64 oz and it's perfect for my guys. It does help with the dribbling, and it's heavy enough when full to not tip over easily. It's very sturdy, too. Unless your dog chews it up, it will hold up. It is extremely hard to open. But, I imagine that's due to the excellent waterproof seal of the lid. But, that does make it harder to clean. I am just so totally impressed by the quality construction and that it is completely spill proof! I recommend this highly and it has been a miracle for myself and my dogs. Hope this long winded review helps people decide to give it a try.

I know this is advertised for dogs, so it's mainly my own fault, but I desperately need a spill proof water bowl to use in the car while travelling long distances. As many have mentioned, it was nearly impossible to open the first time. Finally my daughter used a table knife under the edge of the lid to pry it open. Ran it through the dishwasher before trying to use it, as it had a very strong plastic smell when it arrived. Tested it in the house. Sadly the opening is too narrow? steep? for my cats to be willing to use it, as they have to basically push their whole face up against the plastic to get to the water, and cats don't like having their whiskers pushed around like that. Guess I'm back to the shopping stage. I'll pass this on to a friend who has long-snouted dogs, as the basic idea is good and I'm pretty sure it would do the job of not spilling in the car. but since my cats won't drink from it, it's no use to me.

This bowl does exactly what it is supposed to. My baby can tip it on its side and roll it around the floor without making a mess. It has thwarted her many attempts to drown herself. I was worried it wouldn't work for my small dogs, who are only about 10lbs, but they have reasonably long snouts, so they manage. One of the cats even figured it out, but didn't really like using it.But the only drawback is a rather big one. It's very VERY difficult to open it. There's lots of pet hair and dirty baby hands that get in there, and so it needs to be opened and rinsed often. I've hurt myself and flung water everywhere while trying to open it. Found a video online of someone showing how to open it, but it didn't work for us.Hopefully it will get easier as it gets worn in, but it's been several weeks no, and it almost feels harder.Very happy the baby hasn't drowned though.

Love this bowl, I bought it because I was taking my dogs on a road trip. I put it in the back of the suv with the dogs so they would have water on hand at all time. It never spilled over and the dogs made less mess because it helps with the droolly mess they make.

My boxer mastiff would slobber water everywhere everytime he drank. We had a mop beside his bowl so it would always be handy. This bowl is awesome! Rocky still drips water but its minimal and not puddles. He did chew and break off a part of the plastic though...still, 100% recommend

First off, giving this a 4 out of 5 start ONLY because getting the lid of the thing out of the box was very difficult for some reason - not as easy as it looks in the video's I watched before purchasing. Could be a manufacturing issue or could be theres some trick to it I didn't get, but the husband had to open it after I monkeyed and struggled with it to no avail. The handle kept bending rather than helping to open the lid no matter how I applied pressure or tugged on it - and I'm not a wussy-can't-open-jars/containers kinda girl, normally! :) Seems to be very sturdy construction and well engineered other than the above issue. I might suggest a slight design mod to give the user an opposing lip on the bottom bowl to pry it open more easily and with less effort!! Can't argue the tight fit though.5 stars across the board for the design. First thing I did after we got it open was to fill it and test the spill-proof claims as i saw demo'd on line. IT WORKS! You can slosh it back and forth (reasonably hard, not atomic style) without splashing outside the lid, shake it, flip it over quickly or slowly, spin it, and the floor stays dry! This bowl absolutely put the kabash on our naughty water cat who loves playing in the water bowl, kfiding new ways to knock it over and empty it, splashing with both paws till it's empty and the walls are dripping... this cat is crazy, loves showers and plays in the tub water too. I was initially concerned with how small-ish the opening looked online and whether the cats could/would adapt to sticking their heads down past the lid to reach the water - but after the initial snorting of water up the nose a few times, they have all adapted and figured out how to drink from it in their own ways. Naughty boy was puzzled and tried to splash in it at first, but the splatter stayed in the bowl (wahoo!!) and he eventually gave up the game and sat his fuzzy butt fown for a drink. Floor has been dry for going on 3 days now - very pleased!!Will update after we've used it a while and I try gettig the lid off a few more times.

I actually had to order two of these because my mother-in-law claimed the first one I bought for her cat. We brought our original bowl to my husband's family's house and the cat liked our dogs bowl so much we left the bowl behind and bought a second.

We have a golden retriever puppy who was "swimming" in the water bowl at 8 to 9 weeks, and NOTHING would stop her, corrections were not working and well she is just very young to retain much although she is learning. In any case, this will SAVE our wood floors and on the other level of the house the tile grout which was getting soaked several times a day when she went swimming in the regular bowl. This one is almost entirely swim -proof. she can easily get her little face in for the water and tried to get a paw in, but realizes it is not going to work for "swimming" ...so far after only a few hours with this bowl, we are very pleased. The other dog is annoyed but started to drink from it right away also although he does not understand why we need this change. The bowl is SUPER sturdy and strong. She is a chewer also and tried to and could not get a grip on this one to do much with it, and that was the end of her trying to chew on it or tip it over, it is a nice heavier weight, with strong construction.Almost took away a star for it being a bit of a challenge to open it up (wanted to wash it first of course) and so that is to be considered but it takes a minute but once you get the hang of how it pops open it is fine. I did want to mention that as if you have issues with hand strength it could be a bit of a challenge but WORTH it to avoid the water mess. This bowl is the real deal, so happy to have found it. Purchased both sizes as the 44 oz is better for the puppy but truly even a big dog could use it.
