I bought these because my new stovetop warned not to put hot metal sheet pans from the oven on cooktop. I planned on placing them on the cooktop but found they look better and are more functional on each side. The texture is forgiving for the bent corners that occurred during shipping and I was able to straighten them satisfactorily. They were slightly warped also and needed to be flattened with careful bending. The metal sheet is thinner and more pliable than I hoped or expected. The backing is similar to mesh rubber carpet padding and is in no way heat resistant. So, the side placement is ideal to avoid melting should someone accidentally turns burner on. They are not a heavy duty product but they work for now.

This is the second time I ordered these counter protectors...I use mine for my slow cookers to protect my quartz counters and now I ordered a set for my brother's new apartment that has Formica counters. He uses a Foreman grill constantly and this will be put to good use...These are well made, and I just store them on the side of my refrigerator, so they are always handy...The size is perfect also...

Worked well for what I needed it for. Only problem was not being able to clean the backing well enough, which is good for it not moving around on you.

I recently purchased new quartz countertops and while they require little cleanup, they are susceptible to damage by heat so I purchased these protectors. They protect my countertop from hot pans or pots I might remove from the stove and put on them, but they're good for much more. They are padded for the heat and they don't slide all over the place as a microwave, coffeemaker and toaster will on the smooth surface of quartz. I'm thinking of getting a smaller one to put under the microwave which slides right at me when I try to open the door. I have to remember to hold it so it doesn't move. On the downside, the metal bends and dents if you don't handle it with care. I like it because it blends in with the stainless steel appliances.

Great product, very durable, looks great on my counter and helps protect it. I do a lot of counter top cooking and my appliances can create a lot of heat. I don’t want my counter tops damaged by heat or stained by sauces. This works great! I bought a set for my daughter. She has marble counter tops that need protecting. Love these pads. I have several different sizes. These don’t slide , they stay put! Wonderful product!!!

I have another smaller size protector mat that I've had for years and still use it constantly. I wanted the same type protector to use when camping. I plan to put it on my camping table and place my camp stove and/or small appliances on this mat because my table doesn't have a thick or sturdy top and I don't want to burn or damage it. The protector mats are the perfect size for my table and they seem to be of good quality. I like the thickness and the fact that they stay put because of the rubberized backing. I'm sure I'll get many years of service from them.
