This is not a typical advent calendar that people are usually used to, in which children count down to a holiday. This is more of a "do it yourself" advent calendar in which you have to build the calendar form a bunch of little pieces, including the calendar stand itself. I was a little taken aback at first but then I just made it a fun project for the children and they actually had such a great time doing this with me. After you push out the numbers, you can save them in a box or something and then change the numbers as you count down the days of Ramadan. I like the color scheme of this unique advent calendar and the do it yourself theme. So while it is not a traditional advent calendar, it is quite nice and will be fun for the kids.
