Sturdy & works fine. At this price I'd like to see more mounting hardware though. It comes w/ 2 sizes of U bolts. Used the small one on my 7/8" bar. A bit of a pain to get tight enough, since the nuts are too close to the ball mount to use a ratchet. Still slips a bit. Bought an off brand quick release mount w/ a 1" ball to solve that issue.

I really didnt think those tiny nubs would hold it but ive pushed it pretty hard as far as normal road and highway goes and when i get off phone hasnt moved at all. was a huge pain to get it attached though, possibly just an issue with my bike handlebars and how it fit but turning the nuts was a very laborious process

Pros: So, the grip itself holds the phone pretty well, no complaints there. I love you can set up the phone positioning in any way you like, I also like that just about every part of the phone grip is replaceable so you dont have to get a whole new grip if a part fails on this one.Cons: The rubber grips for the pivoted arms need to be glued on and RAM provides the glue in the package, though it is easy to get clue on the outside of the rubber pieces ruining the aesthetic. They are also very generous on the amount of glue provided. Question is - why not glue those down at the factory? You will sell the money on extra glue as well and save customers extra work. Also, the pivot ball is tightened by 2 springloaded plates and doesnt much like to stay in place. It tends to tilt the phone when im riding hard in twisties, and the way it is designed only allows for so much tention on the ball (or maybe its just mine). The grip is also a bit tall. That allows for more adjustment forbwhere you would like to mount it on the bike but on my MT09 it sits right in the middle and comes all the way out a half tank. This should be customizeable. The rubber piece - this extra security feature while nice, is not very high quality. The large one barely stretches over my Galaxy S8+ and the case. Also, most of my friends own the grip, and all of them have the rubber piece torn by now. I find myself seldim using it as the phone grip does the job on its own very well.Summary: its a solid grip, one of the better ones on the market, and i really wanted to give this 5 stars but can't. At least not for this revision.

Okay, I made the mistake of being cheap, not once... but twice before this order.I have also confirmed with others who made the same mistakes, pretty much everything under the 30 dollar mark is for a bicycle not a motorcycle. And even so, the ones above the 30 dollar mark that are made for motorcycles are not made for people who ride hard. What I mean by this is if your ride off road, or even just street and come down a little hard from a wheelie you will still probably knock the phone loose on most other mounts. This one actually hold the phone stable under all speeds and conditions I have had so far.I had to mount it a bit uncconventually on my ducati as this is a track bike with very little room to clamp anything, and the clip-ons are already short mounted with no room to connect to the bar itself. So I finagled and used the mounting bracket smaller U bolt around the protruding spring setting screws from the front fork's suspension. Its a little interesting of a connection, but Its holding rock solid and I love how it fits. This was definitely worth the cost, as it may be a bit more then I wanted to spend on a mount, its better to spend 50 up front then 1000 for a replacement phone when your cheap buy drops it on the highway at a buck 30.I will try to post back in sometime and update if it changes, if I don't update its holding fine.

I purchased this to mount my phone on my motorcycle handlebars. I have 1" bars and the rail mount fits well. The double socket arm allows me to position it right where I want it and the X-Grip holds my phone really securely. The first few times I used it, I used the little rubber web thing that comes with it and wraps around the corners of your phone to give extra security against the phone falling out. After a few rides I tried going without that extra piece, just relying on the X-Grip itself and I've never used the extra piece since. The X-Grip holds very securely. I ride a cruiser and the mount sits behind a windshield, but my phone hasn't budged in the X-Grip during any city or highway riding up to 110mph. If you're riding a dirt bike, or a dual sport on rougher terrain, you may want the extra security of the web.My only complaint, which is just a matter of the design, and is just something you have to deal with, is it takes 2 hands to put your phone in and out of this device. One to hold the phone and the other to open the X-Grip. First world problem for sure, but that's the price you pay for such a secure hold.I've since bought several more X-Grips for other vehicles.
