My wife and I drive cross country on multi-day road trips frequently - and our vehicle is getting a bit older - so I always carry a small selection of tools, tire repair gear, a diagnostic code reader, and even some spare parts that commonly wear out. This is a good complement to the kit. You'll hear a lot of opinions about using this in your car. If you use it, you are adding particulate matter into your coolant system (which only has two moving parts - the water pump and the thermostat). Will it stop a leak in the radiator? It depends on the leak - if it's a tiny crack or split in a hose it might help - if it's a large leak this won't do the job. Keep in mind the coolant system is pressurized, so as this material circulates it will be pushed into the leak, and as it accumulates it may seal the problem. But it will also accumulate throughout the entire system - in an older vehicle you radiator and heater core will slowly begin to clog up anyway - this material will contribute to that process. So, in case of emergency, definitely try this. My wife and I have used similar products with success and continued driving for thousands of miles until we got home and had a chance to fix the problem properly. Just keep in mind it will possibly shorten the life of your radiator and heater core in the long run.

So I used this stuff (different brand but same product) in the past on a few occasions, and it's had saved my butt 3 times when I had a radiator leak. I would buy it from AutoZone for a few bucks. Miracle. But I recently discovered that none of the auto zones in my area appear to carry it anymore. So I looked on Amazon and found this and decided to give it a try before spending $200 on a new radiator.Arrived quickly, the instructions say to make sure ur engine is cold and put the full tube of powder into ur antifreeze and then run the vehicle for 15 minutes. Sadly this time was not successful like in the past. Maybe it has something to do with being a different brand. Or it could also be because my radiator is too cracked for this stuff to seal it. But sadly it was not successful. I personally am still a fan of this product. As the first three times I used it, it sealed my leak on the first attempt. This is the first time that wasn't the case. So 3 out of 4 isn't bad. I would advise anyone to at least try this out first if they have a leaking radiator. It's cheap enough and I swear on it working in the past. I'm thinking this time around is because the leak is too severe so I'll be buying the radiator. But this is worth the try. It's as easy as it gets. Powder kind of looks like that Lucas candy and I don't recall the smell of it being good or bad or strong enough that it stoodout
