My old ones that came with a harbor freight kit wouldn't fit on my sister's 2008 Toyota yaris. This is the first time I've been disappointed with the quality of a HF item. Anyway, I bought these brass ones. They are really great quality! Most of these are aluminum with fittings screwed on but these are full brass. For the price, these are the best you can buy.

1998 Dodge Dakota. My old LS coupler from the US General HF 92649 seemed like it was clogged, wouldn't allow air through it no matter what (tried compressor and vacuum pump). The HS was fine. Figured it was old so decided to try a replacement coupler.First tried the Orion couplers, the LS worked at first but then started acting like it was clogged too. Returned it for another set and that LS coupler wouldn't lock down. Sigh. Was going to try the Mastercool one but $30 for one coupler seemed steep so decided to try these, but the LS wouldn't lock down (didn't try the HS).Found a YT video showing how to disassemble a coupler, did that and couldn't see anything wrong. With nothing in it blew air though it and it was fine, and the washers on the plunger piece look OK. So put it back together with a lot of PAG oil and PTL now it seems to be working correctly again, vacuuming down the system right now. Still have leak check and recharge to go, praying that goes well.I found you have to have the knob in the closed position (turn it CW to push the plunger down) in order to let air through, it won't work with plunger fully retracted. But as you start to close you'll hear air start to flow. Can't help but wonder if the R134A connection dimensions have changed at all? My old LS coupler never had any problems locking down, but these newer ones sure do. The Autozone loaner gauge set LS coupler wouldn't lock down either, but that set was pretty beat up so thought that might be why. It's either that or these newer couplers are using tighter/wrong dimensions/tolerances.Had these locked down I'd have given them 5 stars... they appear to be well built couplers so gave them 3 stars even though they didn't work for me.Update 8/3/24: My old coupler started acting up again during the recharge, so decided to bite the bullet and get the Mastercool 82934-E LS coupler. It wouldn't lock down either. Tried testing airflow using the compressor with this one anyways, noticed the center pin needed to be pressed in before it would allow air flow. I wasn't too impressed with this design as the center pin was "floating" so to say, seems like it could potentially not center correctly on the schrader valve pin.

Purchase these to replace originals that came with AC gauges. Those had an inner seal that deteriorated after just the first use. These on the other hand not only are relatively smaller than those, but definitely have better quality and workmanship. Excellent purchase!

I ordered these and then saw some reviews that said these leaked. I almost returned them, unused... 🫣Instead, I decided to try the low port connector: I unscrewed the pin all the way (Close, so it wouldn't hit the schrader valve when I put it on), snapped it onto the (L) access port, twisted it (Open) and added some PAG oil (no leaks). A/C is working well...will need a bit of R134a soon, but it will do for now.
