Purchased two cans thinking I would need to apply several coats. Wrong! Only needed one coat to level out the black base coats. Cannot return the second unused can for a refund due to return shipping rules.

This spray is exactly the right color for my Merc outboard. It covers well and seems to be durable after it dries well. I found it needs a few days to cure really hard.

Refinished alpha one drive with quicksilver primer and phantom black. Also applied spray max 2k as topcoat which made finish very hard and does not even scratch with fingernail. This was a great way to finish because now the drive is very durable and should last longer than the factory coating. I will be finishing the rest of the parts the same way so that I get years of a great looking Outdrive without purchasing a new one. I also used an aluminum primer on the areas that were down to bare metal. Quicksilver primer and topcoat both work great and had no issues with either of them. Definitely a great way to up update a worn looking out drive with a little effort. I do recommend going with the harder Clearcoat so that the finish is hard and can withstand the elements.

Looks great, you have to apply in light coats, wait 45 mins apply another light coat...repeat...use the recommended primer and clear coat. LIGHT coats with the clear coat or it will haze over and ruin your paint job. You can press on it with your finger nail 10 days later and it will make a mark and impression. Give it time to cure. Great paint if you do the prep work....apply light coats....and follow the directions.
